Poll Question:
Who is your favourite Oiler prospect/rookie, and why?
(This poll has been made because certain members are complaining Oiler fans on this site rarely start polls. Well, bask in the glory of our potential)

Now some of the choices I have provided above I was hesitant about putting in, such as Theo Peckham, since he is already playing regularly in the lineup, but put him in anyway since he is still 23.
Others I may have omitted because of a lack of knowledge, or of the reason above, such as Devan Dubnyk.
Let me know if I should add or subtract anyone. Or Beans, as a mod, feel free to add/subtract, I trust your judgement as an Oiler fan. |

Why does this poll assume that anyone who votes will automatically HAVE a favourite . . . what if I don't particularly feel any will be a favourite player of mine?
And do you know the difference between a prospect, and a fulltime NHL rookie player? It seems not.

Did I not admit a lack of knowledge? After all, I am but a lowly Oiler fan, living in the shadow of the multitudinous "leaf nation."
And, this is a question about your favorite Oiler prospect, if you are a jealous leafs fan, feel free to vote accordingly, as I have adjusted so you too have a choice. |

LOL, pretty sure this entire poll / thread was made up in a somewhat sarcastic way!
Think i'll make up a Canucks one. Maybe, who's your favorite all time Canucks trainer? Maybe stick boy? Hmmmmm |

despite not doing much for my pool this year, I still like Paajarvi. Maybe its the easy acronym...MPS, its almost MPV!
The fact that this list is as long as it is should be scary... If we did one of these for the Canucks it might be 5 or 6 people long.
TOR might have even less than that |

Lmao ya Alex well Phil kessel is better then Vancouver's entire team!! Lol
Anyway back on this thread and yes i concur that it is impressive that the oilers have so many talented rookies to choose from. Hall &Paajarvi are obvious choices with their game breaking speed & Eberle is obvious due to his hands & how well he sees the game. I am going to go off the radar a bit and say Anton Lander as he really impressed me in the jrs with his speed and quick release on his off wing. Obviously, it may not transfer to the nhl but with the others now regulars in the nhl i have to say he appears to have the most upside of the unproven others. Regardless to have two canadians and two swedes with so much promise is not a bad thing for the oilers to deal with. I would not be surprised if all the young talent stays together in Edmonton as it has done so in Pitt, Chic & Wash.

I would not be surprised either, at least for a while. The real question is, will they all pan out? CHI, PIT, WSH - they all had prospects, but for the most part key prospects have also delivered at the NHL level to their potential. Too early to know for sure for EDM players. |
