ToeDrag....i voted the same way, i like his combo's he has the potential to have on lines (St. Louis / Stamkos, Kane / Toews, Richards / Eriksson. Be interesting to see who plays with who. That's usually my favorite part, just to see the lines!
BTW, welcome aboard the forum here. If you've been on here at all as a guest, i'm sure you've seen there are lots of Leafs fans, tons of discussions about them, and inevitably, a massive amount of controversy surrounding most of these discussions! Enjoy! |

I think you'll see Richards line up with Stamkos & St.Louis Alex. When St.Louis picked Richards last night, he said he had a talk with his buddy earlier and since he agreed to move to LW so they could play together, he'd pick him. Stamkos also said in an interview on TSN that he'd be happy to move to the wing as well so that the 3 of them could play together. Richards/St.Louis were awesome together in Tampa. |

Yeah, i heard that during the draft, just wasn't sure it was a done deal yet. Either way, there's still two other pairs that i mentioned, plus the fact that Richards with Stamkos and St Louis would only make that duo even better! |

CBC ruined the game for me. Sorry, but i can not stand when they have all the in-game invterviews like that, and talking to players like Tim Thomas & Eric Staal while they are on the ice. Here the game is going on, and the camera is zoomed in on Thomas/Staal. I swear there was no play-by-play at all for the first 10 minutes of the 3rd period.
And although i still enjoyed the skills competition, i was again disappointed with CBC. The camera work was horrible! In particular during the target shooting. |

Just take the all-star game for what it is. A chance for the league's best players to compete in a non-intense showcase for the league. Hardcore fans should either not bother watching, or keep a 'very' open mind when they do, because the game isn't intended for them as an audience.
They are targetting kids/casual fans/the community the game is in. The game itself is pretty sad, and the skills competition can indeed be silly at times (why are there so many cords and people blocking the players?) but who cares? The game itself is popular and the players seem to really enjoy it. Also the CBC coverage can also be goofy, but keep in mind its a chance for them to try some new stuff and see how it pans out. I doubt we'll be seeing on-ice interviews come playoffs. |

I've never understood that argument, the game is intended for non-hardcore fans? So, they're intention is to try and bring in new fans and sell them what? A half hearted pond hockey game with the best of the league, with 0 intensity, no contact and hardly breaking a sweat? I don't know how you get new fans putting on a game that isn't even close to the actual product and getting it to catch on. That being said, looks like Carolina held a decent event.

Ryan, you talking about the split screen during the target shooting? Great idea, but i assume your tv was like mine (and perhaps everyone's) where you could only see the two right side targets on the one side and the two left sides of the other???
6615.... the cords always make me laugh. Havene't we gotten to the point of cordless cameras and stuff? Guess not?
Tox..... been awhile since i watched an allstar game and i have to say, it was pretty bad. I didn't mind the mic's but the game itself, blah! It did a disservice to pond hockey! |
