Is it just me or does this guy have no quit in him? The flames had to win out the res of the regular season to have a slim chance at making the playoffs and what does their captain do 13 points in his last 4 games played including a hattrick last night. It's to bad for him the flames will not take part in the post season due to the ducks and Hawks winning last night aswell and its too bad he won't get nominated but i'll be Damed if Iginla is not the most valuable player in the NHL this year i truly believe no player has done so much for their team this season! but i must say just to rub it in a little i did call it at the begining of the year that iggy would be a force this season!

For the true meaning of MVP, he would b right there, you're right.

I will never bet against Iggy again . . . he is a force, and a rejuvenated one at that. An amazing season, which has unfortunately fallen in a year with the Flames on the outside looking in.

100% Agree, people say look out fo rAnaheim and Chicago with all the talent they have in the bottom of the Western playoff race, and when Calgary comes to town its just Iggy and teams still cant slow this guy down! What a force!

I really don't like the Flames, but I kind of wish they were in just so I could see Iggy play some more! He is on fire right now and he is not giving up!

Bring back the Jets!

I live in Calgary and he is a GOD here! He's the most VALUABLE player in the whole league! If the award lived up to it's name, he'd win it in a landslide.

I kind of feel bad for him that he plays for such a hopeless team, I would be happy if he's traded to a contender someday to finally get a cup (see: Bourque, Ray, 2001).

One of the best the league has for sure.

There was once a license plate in Toronto that abbreviated "Go Leafs" it read "Golfs".

In the last 2 weeks Iginla's personal success has given us Flames fans something to cheer about. He epitomises the perfect hockey player for me: sure there are flashier players, stronger players, better goal scorers, better fighters etc. etc. But very few, if any, can do it all at the level he can...and handle the pressure of being a leader at the same time. In 2006 I said he'd make it to the Hall, this season brought him one step closer. I hope he doesn't have to pull a Bourque to win a cup, but I'd still respect him if he did (full respect to Ray too)

he could retire today and make the hall... I am sure he will be a part of the 600 goal club before his days are done in the NHL
