Poll Question:
What was once a sure thing for Calgary, is no more. Who's going to take last playoff spot in the Western Conference?

I hope the Flames and I think they will. Tanguay , Iginla, Huselis will continue to do good and lead them into the playoffs. It will be a Montreal Calgary cup final! |

I dunno, but when a massive pile of snow gets rolling, it'll douse any Flames in its path... |

I hope its Calgary, I hate both those teams but the Avs more, the only thing is its a sure thing for the 1st place team because calgary wont be able to win on the road.

Well admin, the way you have it worded, I would be much more inclined to select the Edmonton Oilers. I'm sure you mean who will sneak into the last playoff spot though, and I'm keeping faith in the Avs to knock the Flamers out of 8th. |

Colorado will make it. Thats not forsure but I am pretty sure they will and they have never missed the playoffs since coming to Dever so I don't want that to be broken because of some silly little Flames.
Like Mik said, when an avalanche is coming, no flame can stay lit.

I really hope that Calgary makes it. I wanna see them play Detroit or Nashville in the first round. |

Calgary is screwed either way, unless they manage to take over 1st in their division. If they finish in 5th-8th, they will lose home ice advantage, which is the only way they could win a playoff series (in 7 games). |

I would now feel compelled to say the Phoenix Coyotes with the way you have worded it, but since you have not given them as an option, I will have to pick accordingly |

Leafs fan, very informed decision and good analysis. But you made one error and also omitted one important fact.
Error - You said Colorado is equally strong both home and away. Actually neither their home or away records are actually strong. they are both barely average.
Ommission - Calgary is currently 6 points up.
Two critical factors in my opinion.
Calgary will take it by a mile! |

Or maybe everyone will beat them and they'll lose by a league. The National Hockey League. Haahaha...wow my jokes are getting worse and worse.

I think Calgary because they still have that 4 point edge and I'm expecting Calgary to win the last two meetings beetween the two, but thats only if their top 3 players keep producing. Woops I forgot to log in for my last post I was the guest above. |

Flames just won a couple tough ones (Detroit and Nashville) so that bodes well for them. Colorado is up against the Oil tonight so I guess you can chalk up 2 points for the Avs. |
