What do you think is the top dissapointment of the season? It can be a player, news or a team

My choices are:
1) TEAM: I thought FLorida was going to do good this season
2)PLayer: Gerber. Didn't live up to expectations= doesn't deserv paycheck
3) News: Pens staying in Pittisburgh

All of those were comming, the weren't dissapointing, I am glad the Penguins are staying, Florida always sucks, and Gerber just isn't that good....

How is pittsburg staying in Steeltown a bad think. Well thi is comming from a Sens fan ...
Mine is...
Team-Philadelphia Flyers (who would have predicted that)
Player-Sergei Samsonov (played horribly this year and is now scratched)
News-NHL may take out fighting (if you lose fighting its no longer hockey.)

Team - Washington. Got such a great player but second last in the East.
Player - Eric Lindros. Haven't heard about him throughout the year
News - Taking fighting out of the NHL

Team - Oilers. Stanley cup finalists, now not even making the playoffs.
Player -Samsonov and Aebisher (what a waste of money.)
News - Ryan Smyth traded to the Iles.
And I could had a much much more.

Team - Washington, for bringing little/no help in for Alex O, and likely won't hit 30 wins because of it
Player - Colby Armstrong, played himself off the gravy train (as Crosby's linemate), currently sitting at 31 points and likely the bottom of everybody's fantasy team unless you allowed trades
News - Bad publicity...stick work, questionable hits in terms of timing and flying elbows, players getting injured whioe fighting - not good for anybody

Team: Either Philly, (last place in league) or Carolina, reigning stanley cup champs now fighting for a playoff spot.
Player:Marc Savard, where did he come from? And Alex Ovechkin, really losing pace with the rest of the big guns lately.
News:Ryan Smyth to the Islanders, or Dipietro siging 15-year contract. (Was that this year??)

Team: Philly, Who would have guessed they would be this bad
Player: Jan Bulis, Brought in to put up roughly same #'s as last year(40 points), now less points then Linden
News: Anyone who said Tootoo didnt deserve what he got.

Team: Edmonton - One game from the Cup last year, looked great on paper offensively at the start of the year. Anemic Offense and tons on injuries at the end of the year = No Playoffs
Player: Samsanov or Richards - Both overpaid and underachieving
News : The continuation of the Toronto Media controlling the NHL.

Team: Philly, even though I can appreciate all the points they've let the Penguins take off them.
Player: Ovechkin. Not that he hasn't played well, but rather it has been thoroughly disappointing to see him have an utte lacking of any quality talent around him.
News: The fact that the most US press the league has got has been related to violence.
Why are you disappointed to see a hockey team stay in Pittsburgh? Were you pulling for KC as a Sens fan? |

I'd have to say the Oilers as a team. I'm a rabid Oilers fan, and that 12 game losing streak was sad. Roli shined for us in the shootout against the Avalanche, then we get shut out again. The Flyers are also a disappointment. Last year they had over 100 points. This year they'll be happy to make 50 some. In terms of a player, I'd have to say Jose Theodore. He's supposed to be a Hart trophy goalie. Right now, he's a complete waste of cap space for Colorado, because they have Budaj. Budaj has been very good for them. In terms of news, Smittie..  He was the heart and soul of Edmonton, and hes gone... |
