Need some advice/an opinion...

My pool is allowing free trades of players that are injured for a period of three months or more. Trouble is when the NHL or a team declares a player to be out "indefinitely". How is that defined? Does that mean two days, two weeks, two months, 4 months?
I need to know so if a player is out indefinitely, and one of my poolies wants to trade them, how do I judge how long that player will be out?

Indefinitely normally means they don't have a time table for their return yet, it could be a week to month or even the rest of the season, depending on the severity of the injury.
