Been a Habs fan as long as i have been a hockey fan and that has been all my 24 years, but i am done watching this team tonight mid game i switched over to the Edmonton Minny game and never went back, call me a bandwagen jumper all you want it's not that i have lost any love for this team it's just on top of being a BAD team this season they are absolutly no fun to watch, Untill their is a major change in their team coaching and team philosophy i am done. The players i as a fan find are playing the best for the Habs see limited ice time, take Lars Eller tonight creates 3 good scoring chances on one shift one off a terrific back check where he broke up a dangerous play by the ducks and carried the puck back to the offensive zone, then 7 min go by before he gets his next shift, let the kids play geeeeze... right now the habs are just no fun to watch so whenever theirs another game on i'm watching it!

I agree, they always do that to kids. They prefer to try and sell us the famous scott gomez, or gionta or whatever. I'm sick of this, I don't watch them as much as I used to since I was born. Even Subban this year is boring imo. |

I completely agree. The Habs will remain my religion, but they aren't showing anything good. Specialy when the oilers are playing on another chanel...boy do these guys have future

I COMPLETELY AGREE! There performance is terrible. Tell this to a die hard habs fan. No to mention when was the last time Scott Gomez had a quality season. Not to mention we got 7 guys on the IR: Markov, Gomez, Campoli, Spacek, Engqvist, Nash(Brendon) and White. One game I was watching them next minute

I suggest you all switch to watching the Bruins this year. They score a ton, hit, fight and even run the odd goalie from time to time. Win or lose they are not a boring team to watch. |

For a habs fan, NO MATTER What THAT the only teams in our (or mine) heads the top 3 teams we/me would hate to watch the most are Toronto, Pittsburgh and BOSTON. The only good player on that team that I respect is Bergeron.

I am also in full agreement. This is the least enjoyable hockey season i can remember. It's not even exciting when they win, as seldom as that may be. There needs to be a full change in habtown, gauthier and martin gotta go.... but it won't happen. sucks to be a habs fan this year. carolina getting Muller was the clincher for me.... he shoulda been the new coach in montreal.

Now I am an oilers fan but I am not going to condone you switching over to oilerdom. Not because you weren't with us all along, it's because you betrayed your own team. Keep your loyalty with your team |

I completely agree. I live in Montreal; and here it's pretty much Habs all the time. We watch every minute of every Habs' game. We are diehard fans.
I'm all into "supporting your team no matter what" or whatever. But this isn't the case this year. Right now, I don't care if we win or lose. We are so boring to watch it makes me want to cry. The Montreal-Anaheim last Wednesday was easily the worst hockey game I have ever seen. I drank twice as many beers twice as fast, just to dull the excruciating boredom. Montreal is so boring to watch this year that little children ask to go to bed early rather than be subjected to this tripe. Like I said, I'll support my team down to the last breath. But right now, I'm bored as f***. I have completely lost interest in this season. Shuffle the cards and let's start again. This team blows.
I watch NHL hockey. I don't want to see Nokelainen and Darche robotically chip it in and change. I'm so sick of Gomez rushing through the neutral zone, I want to barf. Thank god he's injured. Travis Moen on the first line makes me downright angry. Subban doesn't rush anymore, because he isn't allowed to. And who's this "Cammalleri" character, and what has he done with Cammalleri?
We have a good core. Plecky, Gorges, Gill, Price, Subban, Gionta, Great. Cole, Desharnais, Patches, Kostitsyn, Great. Now, can we let them play hockey? I'm tired of watching dump and change drills. This neutral clogging s*** is s***. I want to watch skating, passing, shooting. You know, hockey.
I watched Boston kick the living s*** out of Toronto on Saturday. Now, that was a game. Tactic vs counter-tactic. Match-up vs match-up. Boston won because they are a ssssssick team. But Toronto is great too and fun to watch. They have a team full of spirit and interesting characters. I want to watch. Montreal, I don't want to watch.
But Montreal, it's our fault. We let this administration feed us mediocrity while we crawled all over each other for over-priced tickets and toxic over-priced beer. I spent $200 to watch a game last year (granted, I got completely wasted). But still, that's too much.
The only way we're going to turn this around is to stop watching and paying $100 to watch Jacque Martin play fourth liners all night. Stop buying Molson, and let's get on with our lives. I'm loyal to my team; but my team hasn't been loyal with me. I want to watch good, exciting hockey. Give me Colorado, give me Edmonton, give me the Islanders for Christ sake. They lose too; but at least they're fun to watch. Stop wasting my time and turning my past time into a waste of time.
In conclusion, I'm bored. This team has lulled me into an ambivalent swoon. I go to bed thinking not once about the Habs; but rather Cal Clutterbuck, and whether I should pick him up in my pool. He's doing well. Better than the Habs. And that, is the state of Habs' nation right now.

The ONLY problem i have with this Hab fan hatred towards their team, is that i have a funny feeling that if they were winning these boring games, 99% of the Habs fans would be content.
I know i'm gonna get a backlash from many, but that's my opinion. I don't recall too many Devils fans hating on their team winning those "boring" cups. |

Things is, we are emotional people with a non-emotional team. No emotions makes it boring. I seriously wouldn't care if we would lose with emotions. Winning or losing without it is just plain boring. I've always watched them and cheered them up, always told people to shut up about Montreal because it made me angry if they said they sucked. Now I don't care. They do suck. No emotions suck.
The only ones having emotions are Price, Subban and Pacioretty. |

Agree 1000000000%!!!!! I would rather give 7million to a beggar on the street than Gomez who doesn't do anything but skate around aimlessly. |

I am so glad people start saying that. I've been saying this to my friends since Halak went crazy against Washington and Pittsburgh in the playoffs. They were playing the trap and they were really boring. But like Alex said they were winning so nobody cared. I watched the game saturday against LA and I couldn't believe how bored I was watching hockey, Montreal won. The thing is they have such a s***ty defense they have no choice to play a tight defensive team, therefore they cant let their speedy guys fly. If they would just let them skate like Ron Wilson is doing they would lose a whole lot more games because they have no support on defense at all. That is the same reason why the Leafs were so awefull in the past few seasons. Anyway I agree the Habs are really boring to watch and even worst this year. Im just glad some Habs fans are noticing. They will keep Martin as long as there d is down, because they have no choice to play that system if they want to compete.
Honnestly you have to give credit where credit is due, they were able to shut down Kopitar and company with Subban, Gorges, Gill, and three rookies that I dont even remember there names that are AHL career players. |

Whoa Whoa Whoa for starters lets start makeing a few clarifying comments here
For one I am a habs fan and will always be a habs fan Never said i'd stop rooting for them, i said "I will stop watching them when their is a more exciting game on" why would i watch my habs with the way they have been playing when i could watch in my opinion the most exciting player in the league right now Nugent Hopkins
Secondley it is not the system in Montreal i find boring, i'm pretty sure i ve been on record since day one i'm not a Jacques Martin fan, but that never meant i'm not a fan of the trap or the defensive system he apply's, My problems with Martin are diffrent then that,
1. He is runing our young talent, example Lars Eller, this kid is a 13th overall pick skates well wins faceoffs plays a defensivly sound game and creates offense, i'll use the Anaheim game as an example, the habs only line that could substain any attack was Eller Moen and Leblanc, when they were on the ice the habs had the puck in the offensive zone and were creating, Martin used Moen the most of the player on that line and he played a whoppping 12 min Eller 11 and Leblanc 7min, Martin instead had Cammalleri Plekanec and Gionta out there for over 20 min each and they had a combined 0 shots on goal.. the team was down 2-1 going into the third and it took them untill the 5 min mark in the htird period to get their first shot on goal, that is BORING take a page from the Oilers book and if the kids are doing well LET THEM PLAY...
When asked by the media why Eller who is 21 why this eyar he appeard to have more confidence he said "last year i was so afraid to make a mistake and get benched, this year i don't care i'm just playing my game" if that doesn't send a red flg up to management i don't know what it would take, one of your young players whom you traded Halak for saying something like that !!
i could go on and on.. but the point i would like to make is i have no problem with the Defensive system that is not what is boring it is that the team is loseing and the habs young exciting talent get bench time while the Vetrans who are not producing keep getting thrown out there,, this one trick pony has got to stop,,
this is just one of many problems i have with the habs

Wow, this thread absolutely breaks my heart. It feels like a room full of Vancouver fans from years past. And I thought that Canucks fans were fickle.
To start, to me, the definition of a band wagon jumper is a person who stops watching and rooting for their team. If you are off watching the Nuge, instead of your Habs while they are in a bit of a slump you are a jumper. We all know that you will be right back watching them when the team gets a little healthier and gets on the winning side of things. I am so disappointed in my fellow Habs fans.
Let's be realistic. This team at best is a 6-8th finish, with a lower end of 13-14th. Considering all the injuries, especially the Markov absence, how can you really be so disappointed with the Habs sitting in 10th. This puts them two points out of 7th. Stop freaking out, it's a long season and with a healthy Markov back some time in January, this team will turn it around.

how can i be diassapointed with the habs sitting in 10th ? band wagon jumper, ok lets be more clear again, infact i posted this thread after the habs loss to the ducks and then proceeded to wath them, lose in a shoot out to the sharks and hold on for a win against L.A so if anything is fickle then it's my feeble attempt to stop watching this team...
first off call me Ficlke but i am a hockey fan first i watch a lot of hockey games in a year often 4 to 5 a week, I would much rather watch Lars Eller dangle and then Nugent Hopkins thats because Eller wears the Blue Blanc et Rouge, but whent he players i love to see play on the habs are not playing and our coach is throwing under perfromers out there time and time again i fail to see the entertainment value, Watching Eller and Deharnais two young promising talents excell while Gomez is hurt is so fun to watch since besides Price and pacioretty the habs have had very little grade A talent come oput of the draft in Recent years (no i didn't forget Subban i don't think he is grade A more like a Kostitsyn still in my mind) then Gomez returns from injury and it's like ok Eller you're now a winger and Deharnais we re gonna cut your icetime in half... Cammalleri Gionta Gomez are all playing under their potential and they see more ice time then any forward except Plekanec... and the end of games when the habs are down one Pacioretty our second leading scorer and Cole arguably our best forward to date are riding the pine while Gomez skates circles in the Neutral zone and Gionta misses open nets. Our Powerplay is dismal and our absolute best sniper and what a lot of people would consider our most valuable player is on the second wave and avging 30 seconds of pp time per game (see Cammalleri) it's like our coach is watching a different game when he choses who to throw out on the ice, I am frustrated with this team because i am a true fan i expect this team to make the playoffs because they have the past 2 years with less talent , the Markov excuse is weak i get embarrassed when habs fans use it, he was out all of last season and the habs were a 6th place team, be dissapointed all you want habsfaninvan but when i pay 10 bucks for water down beer and 200 bucks for a seat almost on the second balconey i expect more!

My point is that all these Habs fans are freaking out when the team is in tenth despite injuries to three of their top six dmen, less than 30'games into the season. And they are one win out of seventh. Don't be so melodramatic.
Yes, Gomez sucks. Hopefully he comes back to 4th line minutes or PG buries him in the minors. The Habs can definitely afford to do it. Yes, Eller is a good player, stick handles well and all, but be serious. You think he deserves more minutes than Pleky and DD? How can you justify that? |

Never said Eller deserves more minutes than pleky i said Eller needs more ice time than 12 min per game A. to develop into a top six forward and B. because he is playing well enough to see more ice time, and i'm not freaking out because the habs are in 10th and 1 point oput of 7th i think i ve made it quite clear my since the beginging i am upset about the direction this team is going in terms of coaching and management!
