Thats good for them, they deserve it. I wonder who they're first pick will be??
When life gives you lemons throw them at the Ottawa Senators and their fans and hope it gets them in the eyes ;) |

Good, Chicago needs the advantage of being able to pick the best players sooner. Then hopefully their season will be a bit better than this year's. |

Another frustration for the Oilers. If they would have lost to Calgary on Saturday night, they would have had 1st overall pick.

Theoretically. They would have finished in Chicago's spot. |

Esposito will not be the #1 pick, I hope not...

I say they will pick James Vansrysmdyk( I think that's how you spell it) When the world under 17 tournament was in Regina I was a stick boy and I met him I saw him big power forward. |

Pretty cool to be the stick boy, eh?
But Angelo or Jacub Voracek will go ahead of him.
I've figured it out, the guys gotta play like girls! |

It seems that there may be a little uncertainty about how they decide who gets the first pick overall. Here is a snippet directly from the current NHL/NHLPA Collective Bargaining Agreement that should help clear it up. I also see that it is listed in the article link at the top of this page:
--------------------------------------------- Entry Draft Selection
The order of the selection of the first round of the 2006 Entry Draft and Entry Drafts in the years following, shall be determined as follows:
(a) Clubs that do not make the Playoffs participate in a weighted drawing. (b) The non Playoff Clubs shall be ranked in the inverse order of the Regular Season point totals, with team #1 being the Club with the worst record, team #14 being the club with the best record:
Team --------------- Odds 1 ------------------- 25.0% 2 ------------------- 18.8% 3 ------------------- 14.2% 4 ------------------- 10.7% 5 ------------------- 8.1% 6 ------------------- 6.2% 7 ------------------- 4.7% 8 ------------------- 3.6% 9 ------------------- 2.7% 10 ------------------ 2.1% 11 ------------------ 1.5% 12 ------------------ 1.1% 13 ------------------ 0.8% 14 ------------------ 0.5% |
