What's your thoughts on Zach Parise? Over the past few seasons he has turned into one of my favourite players, He plays the game the way its supposed to be played hard and tough, lays hits, and plays both pk and powerplay. Think he will be a superstar in years to come?

I agree - Parise is a terrific player. Another example of a player with a Canadian NHL father (J.P. Parise), who played hockey in the states, and by making his home in the states, raised a prolific hockey talent.

Parise shines in a lot of areas, and this season, he has been outstanding in overtime, when the game is really on the line.

The Devils are the best team in the NHL in overtime games at this point in the season. Currently they have 11 wins in 13 overtime games. And Parise is a big reason why. He has one overtime game winner, and he's 6 for 9 in the shootout, so his contribution in this key area is another feather in his cap!

Another interesting thing about Parise. With only 5 power play points, he currently ranks 205th in power play points, but he's tied for first overall with 7 points on the penalty kill.

I would not call Cheechoo a star, Cheechoo had one great year in his entire career. Parise on the other hand, has improved steadily since his rookie year, and has been PPG for the last 4 years. They should not even be mentioned in the same sentence.

Agreed! Cheechoo had the benefit of playing with, at the time, one of the top 3 or 4 C's in the league, simply hand feeding him goals. Parise was/is the best player on his line, and team for that matter.
