I'd trade 2 Bertuzzis for Luongo. First off, Bert's near the most overrated and overpaid player in the league. The only way he even got a contract with the 'Nucks is his friendship with Naslud, who they'd do anything to keep (and rightly so). Secondly, Cloutier will never lead the 'Nucks to a championship -- he simply doesn't have the stuff to do it, so we need a Luongo.
Leigh and Canuckle head sound like every other Canucks fan around. They are in first place and doing fine. Take your hands off the panic button. Who wouldn't want Roberto Luongo? But lets get real. The Canucks D is weak enough and can't survive losing Jovo. And who would fill in for Bert on the top line? Let's not pull a Boston and trade away the core of the team just yet.
Pucker, you're delusional. The reason the canucks D is weak IS because of Jovo. He's too risky! Allan is young but very good. Ohlund is a premiere D-man. Salo is a 1st line D-man on almost any team. Jovo is good, he's fast, strong and a great 3rd line d-man. But he is not Team Canada calibre and we could certainly afford to lose him to get a number 1 goalie.
And let's qualify this a bit. The Canucks are barely in 1st and they have a 2 game below 500 road record. Besides they always do well in the regular season and that might be good enough for you but I'm talking about a Cup here.
Back to my original point...I wouldn't trade Bertuzzi though....just Cloutier and Jovo. Cloutier and Jovo for Luongo is not quite on the same level as a "Thornton" trade. But I'll definitely be watching the upcoming Canucks/Bruins game
