Poll Question:
I don't think there is a poll like this recently so I ill make one. I think it will be cool to see who people think will win the cup at the end of this season, and then have one right before the start of next season.

So..

Who do you think is going to win the cup this year?

~~~Great season Senators. Good job Anaheim!!!~~~
Choices:
Stars
Red Wings
Wild
Predators (or new team name if they get moved)
Canucks
Ducks
Sabres
Other...
SABRES!!
If they can keep Briere and Drury and get a couple more good players through the draft, they've got a shot. They almost made the finals this year but they just weren't playing like usual in the third round; they seemed flustered or edgy and frustrated and weren't hustling, and Ottawa took advantage of that.
Completeley agree and with a healthy Tim Connolly it helps.
Why is everyone voting the canucks. In the new NHL you need talent and offense and well the canucks lack both.
Luongo is talent.
Bieksa I think can become a really good talent.
That is all though. I guess Sedins are pretty good.
Mik it's hard to get good players in the draft when they get the 31st overall pick.
That's why I said "if"
If they can get good players they'll have a shot. And how do you get the 31st overall pick when they're only 30 teams?
Well the 1st pick in the 2nd round witch would be 31st in the whole draft.
Sorry for confusing you And let's just hope they get some good scouts out there.
No problem, lol. I haven't read up on the draft order yet
BTW, the first round starts at 7 ET on June 22, the second round at 10:30 a.m. ET on June 23, and Versus and RDS are showing them, just a heads up for everyone
Wouldn't it be 32nd choice? Aren't they getting 29th overall pick since they didn't win cup.
Just before the start of the 05-06 season I said that Buffalo would win the cup in 07-08. Unless something major happens in free agency (which it could), I think this will hold true. The 05-06 Sabres were great but very young. I think they were too young to realize the situation they were in, and therefore didn't have to worry about nerves. In all reality they were 1 game and 4 defensemen away from a cup.
In 06-07, they were one year wiser, but I kind of expected them to fizzle out in the playoffs. I thought Miller would take a step back and he did. The team was great in the regular season, but they clearly lacked something in the playoffs. Granted, they could've been tougher, but I think the nerves finally came out towards the end of the season.
In 07-08, the Sabes will dominate, wire to wire to win the cup. The team will come back tougher, that's a guarantee. Nerves will be out of the question - this team will be a playoff-savvy team again. And Miller will blossom into an elite goaltender, up there with Luongo and Brodeur. The Sabes will win a couple playoff games by virtue of his great performance, something that you have to have to be successful in the playoffs.
Because the demands on a goalie are mostly mental, it means that for a goalie, the biggest enemy is himself." ~Ken Dryden
I like the Ducks to repeat.
Perry, Getzlaf, Kunitz, Pronger, Neidmyier???, Giggy, Penner, and maybe Teemu
I don't think you can crack that lineup again
All those plus Schneider.
It's either gonna be the Ducks again or the Rangers. Jagr, Straka, Lundqvist, Shanahan, Prucha, Drury, Gomez, Cherepanov. Ouch.
Also the Rangers have a good d-fence. Marek Malik, Paul Mara and more, they have good defence.
Ah yeah, I knew I was forgetting someone. There's also Tyutin, the master of hipchecks. By the way, it's Rozsival.
I say Ducks repeat! Even if Selanne and Neidermayer retire, they moved in quickly to fill the holes, with Schnieder and Bertuzzi. I think Bertuzzi is gonna have a rebound year, and say...90-100 points. Perry, Getzlaf, and Penner have all matured with the playoff-run, and Moen and Pahlsson have come a long way as well.
GO OIL!!! YA!!!
Top three in the East - Pittsburgh, NYR, Ottawa
Top three in the West-Anaheim, San Jose, Colorado
Pull a name out of a hat to say who should win the cup. Any of those teams could.
I Love your Kids, IHC is the man, and The Oilers Rule. Does that make me insane??
