Down below are the Top 10 defenceman in scoring after the lockout season.(Now I did this just with my memory of who I believe has a lot of points so if one of you stat guys has a real one please put it on here) This is strictly points if I was doing actual Top 10 Souray definitely wouldn’t be on there. Now my question to you guys is out of those 10 players name the player who you think is the most under rated and most over rated.

1. Nicklas Lidstrom 160 games played 29 goals 113 assists for 142 points and +61
2. Scott Niedermayer 161 games played 28 goals 104 assists for 132 points and +14
3. Sergei Zubov 156 games played 25 goals 100 assists for 125 points +20
4. Lubomir Visnovsky 149 games played 35 goals 90 assists for 125 points +8
5. Tomas Kaberle156 games played 20 goals 105 assists for 125 points and +2
6. Bryan Mccabe 156 games played 34 goals 91 assists for 125 points +2
7. Chris Pronger 146 games played 25 goals 90 assists for 115 points and +29
8. Brian Rafalski 164 games played 14 goals 90 assists for 104 points +4
9. Sheldon Souray156 games played 38 goals 65 assists for 103 points and -39
10. Dion Phaneuf 161games played 37goals 62assists for 99 points +15

For me the most under rated Lubomir Visnovsky, he has 125 points in 149 games if he plays around 160 he is at around 130-135 points. And he is doing all that on the LA Kings, also he has a +8 on the Kings that is also very impressive.

Over rated I would have to go with Bryan Mccabe, yeah he puts up some good numbers on the offence but on defence he gives the puck up so much.

Yes that is really bad I just did it out of who has the most points, Souray is no where near top 10 in league for best defenceman.

Gonchar 157 Games Played, 25 goals, 100 assists, 125 points, -18
Boyle 161GP, 35 G, 81A, 116PTS, -13
Schneider 140GP, 32G, 79A, 111PTS, +45
Timonen 159GP, 24G, 81A, 105PTS, +17

I'd say Scheider is pretty under rated.
Timonen is so under rated, he's practically unknown.

Well Timonen is not so under rated anymore as Philly just signed him to $6.3M a year.

6.3? wow that's a lot for him. He's under rated but over payed.

Well him and Pitkannin on the points for the PP should be good.

I don't know Boyle and Gonchar's stats are very similar, further the team structure is very similar (major offensive talent, lacking defensive depth and inconsistent goaltending). Why would you say this for Boyle but not Gonchar?

Very True but at least Boyle can skate fast, Gonchar is a so slow out there.
