Wow! I completely forgot how good a team Calgary was in 89.
They wouldn't have beat the Flyers though. Mullen would have been broken like a twig, possibly Gilmour as well. Calgary would not have withstood the physical thrashing the Bullies could lay.



And even if in some miraculous way they did survive, they still had to beat Parent in net which was close to impossible.

The only reason I remember the year Calgary won the Cup in is because it's the year I was born in. That's why Calgary is my favorite Canadian team. Am I going to get (excuse the joke) FLAMED for saying such a thing?

I'd say the Flyers win this poll, but only because of the physical force that helped them win their games. Calgary had more talent, but if you're injured that talent doesn't do a whole lot of good.
