Isn't it time some desperate team (pheonix or Atlanta for the most part) took a chance with Jason Allison? I think so. He has fully recovered from injury. I personally think that if Lindros can be signed so can Allison. What do you think?

Allison believes he can still make 3 mil. per yer. That's just ridiculous! He doesn't want to budge from that price so teams won't sign him.

I definitely think Jason Allison deserves a chance with somebody. I can only hope the 3 million per yr request is incorrect. I'd say the guy would sign with any NHL team in the $500,000 to 1 million per yr range, just to get another shot.

Lindros got signed? When, and to where?

Allison is a good guy, but too slow for the new NHL. That was true a year and a half ago when he played his last game. His speed has not likely improved while sitting at home watching TV.

Lindros is still in limbo.

Jason Allison's last salary was 1.5 mil for the Leafs in 2005-06, so why he would be asking for 3 mil is beyond me.

I wonder where that information came from?

I don't necessarily agree with everything I say.

Lindros never signed this year but he signed last year with Dallas. Playing for the leafs 2 years ago when i got a chance to see them Allison was ten times better than Lindros. I jsut can't understand why the better player wasn't signed.

This is highly debateable. Having watched a ton of Leaf games that year (thanks, HNIC ), Allison's skating could best be decribed as glacier-like. Old ladies with walkers could be seen walking by the glass past Allison while he was skating with the puck. Lindros has been many things (injured, mostly), but he's never been as slow as Allison. Lindros' ppg average is still pretty good. The problem is you can only get about 30 games out of him in a season.

Skillwise right now though they about even. What in my opinion makes Allison better is that he plays double the games that Linros will. the only bad part about Allison, other than that he is also prone to injuries is like what you said, he's very very slow.

Nash how can you say that? Firstly, Allison hasn't played a full NHL season since 2000-2001 and only 92 games in the past 5 season. Lindros, on the other hand, has played 247 games in the same period of time. I think you have it bassackwards.

If you are under the age of 15, please do some research before you make a post about anything pre-1997.

True - Allison is not the model of clean health. Lindros, despite his problems on and off the ice, has had a better career. Hart Trophy, gold medals, Lester B. Pearson, 6 time all-star. Allison has been good at different times in his career, but I'd shudder to see how far he has fallen at this point. The guy has really only played one season of hockey since 2001-2002. That's a long time ago now.

Sorry Beans your right I looked this up again. Allison has played fewer games. I still think that Allison would be a better player than Lindros right now. He was 4th in leaf scoring 2 years ago and Lindros was 8th I think.

I'd like to see Allison come back too. He's played 66 games in his last year and he's great on the PP. It's a two sided coin. Maybe they should bench him and only play him on the PP a la special teams, like football.

I'll take Allison over Yashin.

Another player a team could take is Jamie Heward. He's a good two way defenceman and he can help the PP. Atlanta, Phonenix, Edmonton?

I was thinking about Heward the other day, too. He's getting up there, though. Must be about 36 or 37 maybe.
