I'm not sure about your defensive choices for the Atlantic line (although that entire division is weak on the blueline), but I could coach the three forwards and Brodeur to a Stanley Cup myself. |

I would have to say that Sergei Gonchar should be there instead of Ryan Whitney. Ryan Whitney should never be mentioned in the category of a divisions best defenceman . I have to say though, the Atlantic division has a terrible all around defence. Kimmo Timmonen could even be challenged there by Darryl Sydor, thats how poor the Atlanic's defence is. |

Kim Johnsson for Liles. Liles is too small given that Johnsson is bigger and just as talented offensively.
Rivet or Jovo rather than Visnovsky. Imagine the time you'd have against two 6'4"+ defencemen that are mobile, smart and tough. I'd put Kopitar on the wing with Jumbo Joe. Though I'd like to put Getzlaf to complete the giant fivesome, Marleau is a fine choice or a true winger like Cheechoo or Perry. This division would have a crazy monster line up of 6'4"+ behemoth highly skilled and fast, flying around. Scary.
Hamhuis or a healthy Weber for Rafalski.
For the Atlantic small speed is key. I'd trade Whitney for Bergeron who can move the puck to that crazy skilled forwards bunch.
North East has so much depth with defencemen it is sick. Team up Chara and Redden again. Or Phillips-Chara. Or go small with Campbell and Spacek. Really it isn't fair to just pick one defensive pairing here. Also why Savard? You've got the best line in hockey in Spezza, Heatley and Alfie, why break it up? You can sub either dancers or monsters here too. Vanek, Mats, Afinogenov or Koivu.
Remove Kaberle for Bouwmester. Good call on keeping only one shooter on the line. Though you wouldn't lose much with Hossa, Kovalchuk and Lecavlier.

Although I hate Gonchar with all my heart, he's a better player than Whitney. Gonchar has skill, but no heart. Whitney has some heart, but not much skill. Close win for Gonch. |
