Hey guys.
My pool awards 2 points for a goalie win, and an added 5 for a shutout.
Players only get points by netting goals (1) or tallying assists (1)
As well, for an added twist, we threw a playoff aspect into this. Any player who makes the playoffs still accumulates points until his team is kicked out. (That would mean that last year, for example, Dany Heatley was far more valuable than Sidney Crosby.)
Now I have a dilemna. I'm only allowed to make one trade until next month.
Should I drop Tomas Vanek for Cory Stillman?
Or rather, drop Kipprusoff (I also could drop Nabokov but that seems dumb when I can go as low as Kipper) for Lundqvist?
Advice needed quickly!

I don't know who would give you Lundqvist for Kipper if you were trading, Kipper is playing horribly.
That would be a good trade for you.
Vanek for Stillman, I'd wait a bit on that one.

Would you believe, nobody picked Lundqvist? I'm allowed to pick him up off waivers. We get to do that once a month.
This is for my REALLY shallow league. Three people, two gaolies each.
The goalies are:
Luongo Miller -------- Brodeur Fleury -------- (me) Nabokov Kipper
I thought I had by far the best one-two. Who's the backup for these guys?! They chould be playing every single game. But wiht Luongo's back-to-back-to-bakc shutouts (i woulda taken him had I had first pick) and Kipper's poor play, it seems that taking a goalie, even if he is backed up by Weekes, is worth it.

Your pretty strong up-front so I'd take Lundqvist. |

Ottawa Oilers, it's hard
Personally, no. The young guns in Pittsburgh can't be as consistent as the 1-2-3 of Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Holmstrom.
The problem is that I feel Zetterberg will slow down. If anything, I think Malkin will speed up. But that's not for sure. Where did you draft Zetterberg?

This just in
I made the trade.
It turns out my dad traded Slava Kozlov to pick up Stillman. I gave him an extra trade because Souray has been injured for over a month, so he also picked up Rozsival in exchange for Souray.
My brother, who is leading, traded away Gagne for Getzlaf. I think thats a mistake. Tell me what you think.

I would take Getzlaf over Gagne. And My friend drafted Zetterberg in the 6th round, with 6 other people. And I took Malkin 5th round. |

He's off to slow start though, I'm worried about him, I guess I'll do it.

Number 1 goal scorer actually, he's one ahead of Ovechkin.
Isn't Tanguay playong with Iginla though? Iginla has more points than Kovalchuk.

I'd take Hossa, he's really heating up. Also the Flames are starting to cool down. |

OK guys, trade time again!
My pool works as follows: 1 pt goal 1 pt assist 2 pt goalie win of any kind 5 pt goalie SO of any kind
Playoffs are included! I can trade forward for forward, goalie for goalie and D for D.
I want to bulk up for the post season. I want to trade either Lundqvist or Kane.
I can pick up (of note) Giguere, Holmstrom, Selanne, Perry, Fisher or Mike Richards.
What should I do? Also most defensemen on the good teams, other than of course Lidstrom, Redden, Rafalski and Zubov are free to pick up.

Lundqvist ---> Giguere. Kane ----> Holmstrom.
I think Anaheim and Detroit are the teams to beat this year and Holmstrom playing with arguably the best duo in Zetterberg and Datsyuk he can rack up alot of points both in the regular season and in the playoffs.
Giguere is Anaheim's #1 and with an amazing Top 4 D-men in Schneider, Niedermayer, Pronger and Beauchemin and the new acquisition of Teemu this team will be flying and will finish IMO the top 3 in the league therefore Teemu + Scotty + Rest of Team = Alot of wins for Jean. |

You have to drop Kipper for Lundquist. Lundquist has way more shutouts and his team has quite a bit of potential. |

Most important question of all:
I can wheel and deal to get myself Giggy for Lundvist, but I just read the rules, and because Alfie and Crosby are traded I can additionally trade one or both. I would not drop Alfie, but Crosby being out for four more weeks, is tempting. Thoughts? I need answers and fast!

Ya I'd take J.S over Holmstrom. But i wouldn't drop Crosby, well do you have a trade deadline? If not then I wouldn't trade Crosby yet. I'd wait for him to come back and see if A) He can't play because of the pain kinda like what happened to Semin took him about 3 months to fully recover. or B) He returns and does squat. Who to trade him for im not sure though, Out of the Free Agents either Mike Richards or Tomas Holmstrom. But it might be better to do a deal with a human team therefore you should probably get more for him. |
