No it's not 1 million. This is actually a really trick question. I think the older guys on this forum might get it. |

I personally don't think the contract was worth anything. As Bobby was only 14 at the time, I think it was against labour laws to pay someone to work under the age of 16. Not 100% sure.
I am quite certain is was a agreement to the rights, but no money changed hands until 1966 when he started playing with the Bruins.
I can also say that in 1972, he was offered a contract that included an 18% ownership of the Bruins. His agent ant the time screwed him over and didn't tell him about the deal so he signed with Chicago instead.
That agents name, Alan Eagleson |

This is what it said in my trivia book. I'm giving you guys the answer.
Originally, 14-year-old Bobby Orr signed the standard NHL "C" form, which gave the Boston Bruins his hockey rights for life in a exchange for U.S. $2,800, a used car and the promise of a new wardrobe (though the Bruins never did deliver the wardrobe). But in 1966, when Orr turned pro, agent Alan Eagleson negotiated a more lucrative deal, the largest rookie contract ever seen at taht time in the NHL; U.S. $80,000 over two years, including a U.S.$ 25,000 signing bonus. Money was never better spent.
That was a tough question I guess. I'll give you guys a new one.

It is an NHL record, but if you can find a goalie that has played in 502 consecutive games, and that is the entire game, he never missed a minute unless he was pulled for an extra attacker, in any league in the world I will be shocked...
Oh, and he never missed a playoff game during that stretch either...

I believe Hall's record is a NHL record for goalies. Jarvis is the holder of consecutive games at over 900. |
