heyy for the members who played this game i am starting the second version of it. (just to pick teams for now)
and for people who havent played this or just joined the site here are the rules.
its pretty simple.
im sure we all know what the GM's job is but let me explain all you have to do.
everybody picks one of the 30 teams in the NHL. (and if you dont pick a team before they're all taken your out of luck and have to wait til next year or if someone drops out)
then you go to that teams website. copy and paste there roster. post it and trade players with other GM's. and every time your roster changes post the new one or edit your old post.
then at the end of the regular season. i will add up all of your players points and goalies wins and whos ever teams points are the highest wins.
simple enough
and
by the way just so everyone else knows.
i pick toronto
also this is just a suggestion i did this but you can put in your profile signatue
ex. Leafs Rock Planet's signature could be Dallas Stars GM
just so people know whos GM you are without checking the list.

Question: since I have six million in cap space, can I sign players or are free agents out of the question for now?
Also, say a team spends their cap money ''upgrading'' through trade and then the team in real life signs a free agent that would put them over the cap in the game -- what do we do?

EDIT: As much as I am flattered by your offer, I don't think anyone on this site has the time to check that every team is following the cap. I say we let the guys be in charge of it themselves, they won't cheat. However if something looks fishy we can point it out and try to resolve the issue. Sound good LeafsFan? |

screw cap space
id rather not have cap space just trade players you can sign free agents if you'd like. and if the team in real life makes a trade it will not effect your team. basically all you try to do is make your team better and then get your points added up.
oh i forgot to add that if you have too many players you can scratch them. but you can only have just like real life only have
2 dressed goalies
12 dressed forwards
6 dressed defenceman
i think thats right correct me if im wrong
oh and alex you cant have the habs because i dont like you

I've been reading this, and I am interested...can I have the Red Wings, please?
Also, how many points for wins, shutouts, and OT/SO losses? And are goals and assists both 1 pt.? And, is there any bonus for a goalie-goal? Also, you didn't mention +/-, so it's not included, correct?
What will the trade-veto policy need to be? I definitely foresee collusion being a possibilty. What will the policy be for 'inactive' GM's?
From doing this for a long time, I urge you to make the policies clear on all of these issues.
I am still in, though.

ok goals are worth one point and so are assists and as for goalies so are wins and SO or worth 0 ok?

| May I also suggest that after all the teams have been completed with trades and everything we have I a poll (feature?) and everybody can vote on who assembled there team the best. |

How can you run this as goals assits points etc. Basically who ever gets(or builds) the highest scoring team in the league wins. That makes no sense.
I know at one time that a member would build the teams into their Xbox 360 or whatever and do simulations. That is awesome. There has to be a simulator program out there where you can add and remove players from a team and have the system simulate who would win.
I am not interested in this if it is basically a pool. |

Yep, Eastside Hockey Manager. I have the program and am in leagues that use it. It's actually alot of fun and very competative, and it's cool to see how your prospects develop and how good of a team you can assemble. It's almost like being a GM. |

For free agents, I think there should be a panel of 5 people that have to approve FA signings. Or, I would just throw a list of all the FA together and sign them to league min and no one could stop me.
Anyone willing to manage the actual competition??? A few have said they have some kind of program that will run this. I just think you can't do goals/assists/points because it is literally highest scoring team in the league wins. That's not a ton of fun.

agreed ... i really don't know its should be some sort of average goals against to goals for i'd like to see the power play and pk ranking taken ino consideration,,,, as many team stats as we can
