For many years, I have been an avid Leaf hater. I have belittled the management, criticized the players and coaches, and mocked Leaf Nation. I felt that they were ruining hockey, simply with management taking the approach, "We are filling seats even while losing so no rush" with the players, "We are getting paid big money to do very little and there is no accountibility so why should we actually break up a sweat", and with Leaf Nation, "ya, our team sucks but we get so close every year. THIS will be the year so lets keep coming out to games and supporting our Leafs to the fullest."
I still question some of the managerial decisions (Jeff Finger?????) but as I watch this team this year, there is something different about them. They are actually playing with heart and with energy! These kids love to play the game of hockey and are making the most of their time in the NHL. I am not a Leaf fan yet, but I can actually enjoy watching them play this year.
Now for my question. Is this the most exciting Leafs team to watch in the past 10 years?
