It has begun, the Flames season long domination of the Canucks. Calgary 3, Vancouver 1. It's going to be a great season!

Not completely useless, but incorrect, thats for sure. Preseason means nothing. Matt Cooke was our most experienced forward playing last night. Preseason means nothing.
leigh is probably all stoked that The Hockey News picked the Flames to win the cup. Let's just remeber something about The Hockey News predictions: last year they predicted the Hurricanes to finish dead last. So history tells us that the Flames will finish DEAD LAST.

LOL, I love the irrelevancy in your logic, but ideally that is what would happen.
Everyone seems to have Calgary as the Cup winner, but why? I just don't get it...
Ok so they added Tanguay, big whoop? So instead of finishing 28th in league scoring they'll finish 15th. They don't even have the same coach and considering who their ex-coach is, I'd say that harmed their chances of winning. Plus, what have they proven in the past to be even considered as a Cup contender? Ok so they have an elite goalie, so did Florida last year and look how far they got. Ok so they have Iginla... well Atlanta has Kovalchuk and Vancouver has Naslund, how far did it get them? Well they did have Phaneuf... well Toronto has McCabe and Philly has Gauthier and look how far they got. Well they made the finals in '04... Yeah remember Florida in '96 and Anaheim in '03 and Edmonton in '06... every year has a fluke team. So how did they get such high expectations put on them? Well they had a coach and his defensive system that used to work and it showed last year how even that won't cut it anymore. So they replace him, a defensive genius, with a rookie... and yet people (even profressional hockey analysts) have Calgary to win the Cup. Well maybe I don't get paid to publish my opinions about the NHL (one day) and maybe I'm not a highly respected hockey reporter, but here's my two cents...
Calgary will not win the Cup, I guarantee it. Now that might not mean anything to anyone, that's fine but just watch. If I had any, I would stake my whole reputation on it. As far as I'm concerned, Calgary is the most overrated team of the 21st century. I wish San Jose would stop losing to the eventual Stanley Cup finalists all the time so they could show the West how it's done. In a nutshell, Calgary sucks monkey nuts. Come on now, you "Flames faithful" should smarten up, give up the dream. I wish I didn't have to say it, but the Cup isn't coming back to Canada anytime soon....

bablaboushka, you aren't a complete nutbar, you are good for a laugh. Maybe we should point you back to your playoff predictions and your previous guarantees. In that case, I guess as a Calgary fan I should be happy you don't predict them to win this year. shhhh.....listen...I think their odds just went up in Vegas.

Lol well my playoff predictions, other than the first round, were some to forget. But, I'm curious about other guarantees I made, mind pointing some out to me? But other than that, I am completely open to bashing teams and I can't wait to have new material once the season really starts. Plus I'm a seasoned veteran ( <<< ), I command respect!! Haha
