So now that Burke has added som grit and toughness to the Leafs maybe he should look at signing kovalev for a one year deal worth around 4.5 M. This gives us some scoring if Kovalev brings his "A" game for this coming season. After this season let him go so we can sign either Nash or Kovalchuk next year. The lineup would look something like this:
L1: Poni-Grabovski-Kovalev
L2: Hagman-Bozak-Kulemin
L3: Blake-Tlusty-Hanson
L4: Mitchel-Stajan-Stempniak
D1: Kaberle-Schenn
D2: Komisarek-White
D3: Exelby-Van Ryn
G: Toskala-Gustavsson
Spares: Mayers, Finger

love how kovalev is in bold letters to indicate not on the team yet,, but Gusstavsson is as good as a leaf,,, no bold letters for him hahahah

It'll be awkward, I don't like Komisarek, and I like Lucic, but if they got in a fight, I don't know who to cheer for, the Leaf, or the Bruin :S lol

Please, don't make that suggestion...if that happened, I'd probably get a Cammelleri Leafs jersey and think, "what could have been" lol

Kovalev is a bum. A talented bum, but still a bum. I don't want him with the leafs.
Alex Tanguay would be a better pick if you want a forward.
Hope they sign Gustavson and get Phil Kessel somehow. |

Komisarek will earn the trust and respect of Leafs fans when they see him block shots and hits night after night. And plus his style of play will fit Ron Wilson and Brian Burke system like a glove. He will be better as a Leafs. |

Not trying to disrespect, but Lucic and Orr are similar fighters in my mind. It would be a closer fight rather then Orr beating him up, people take for granted just how good of a fighter Lucic is.

Absolutely couldn't agree more. It's not like Orr is the toughest guy in the league and Lucic is a peewee. Seriously, Orr is a legitimate tough guy, but I put my money on at least 10 other guys in the league in a fight. Lucic, although is not a sure thing against Orr, is a pretty close bet.
And the thing with Lucic is that he is not scared of anyone. I have yet to see him back down from anyone at all.
Orr might intimidate some, but Lucic isn't one of them. |

He backed down from Laraque twice,, but i agree hes not afraid he just has brains and knows when to fight,, both times if laraque had beaten him he would have handed a lot of momentum to the habs at a bad time

Why is it that everyone is so hung up on the Komisarek / Lucic crap? Man, get over it. Let's say you're running a team...are you not gonna sign Komisarek cuz you're afraid Lucic will beat him in a fight? So stupid! I think the Habs made a mistake letting him get away. As for the Leafs, good pick up and as much as i don't like the Leafs, i hope he does well and think he will in that environment!

Honestly, I was never a Mike Komisarek fan, but lately, listening to his interviews and his ideas and thoughts, starting to come around on him...just a bit lol
