He has a torn ligament in his elbow and will be gone 3-4 weeks. Could this injury bring Toronto back down to reality? They will have a tough time without their heart and soul.

No Sundin = No Tucker = 1/2 Wellwood
They aren't just losing Sundin. |

I figure they will lose about half the games they would win if Sundin was playing. If Tucker & Kaberle can keep it up they will be fine. I don't think they will. But never the less they should be okay.
Sure sucks for my pools. If I trade him he will be gone insantly. I guess I gotta ride it out. Hope he's back soon. |

Just for the record... Don't let last night fool you, I could have scored a hat-trick on Tim Thomas/Brian Finley. |

I agree. An easy win for Toronto. But that a win like that, without Captin Mats, can give a team a whole hell of a lota confidance. |

You must mean Swedish captain. I know that history proves that no team has ever accomplished that, but I do not think that having a Swedish (or any European) captain rules out the possibility of winning the cup. Lets face it, Europeans have not been in the league for that long, and they definitely have not been in leadership positions for very long either. Look at the Avs cup wins: if Sakic was not captain, Forsberg would have been and they still would have won.
Mats Sundin plays like a North American and is an amazing player. He is the last reason why the Leafs have not had playoff success. Do you really think that giving the C to Tucker would make anything different?

Haha...I've got a rivalry against Sweden in hockey cuz they beat my favorite team (Finland) in the gold medal game in the Olympics
About Euopean captains and winning Stanley Cups: Jagr's Czech and he's the captian of the Rangers; they've got a shot at the Cup. Koivu's Finnish and he's the captain of the Habs. They might have a shot at the Cup. Chara's Slovak but I don't think the Bruins have a shot at even making the play-offs. |

"Toronto sucks" , "Flames suck"...if I go over to the Canucks forum will I see a "Vancouver sucks" post from you?
You blamed Calgary fans for having no Canadian pride. If you're Canadian I'd be quick to think that you have none either. |
