im pretty sure everyone knows what my answer is and yes, it is the san jose sharks. this pick isnt only because im a sharks fan, but they are without question the best team in this division and could very well be the best team in the western conference. the heatley thornton combination is going to be deadly. |

well, i hate to break it to ya guest 2976, but heatley may be a cancer but i think he will b different in san jose. this is the perfect fit for heatley. I have heard in interviews from friends and teammates that heatley is a good person and not a bad teammate. alot of people jumped all over him when he demanded a trade out of ottawa, i really dont think it was all that bad. every player has the right to do that. the only thing about heatley was his new contract that he signed and people were pissed that he didnt stick around for the majority of it, but really people went way to far. people whent on to say that he shouldnt b on team canada because of this, and thats just ridicolous. as doug wilson said perfectly "every player has the right to ask for a trade, just as every GM has the right to move a player".
and as for the ducks winning, ya sorry but thats not going to happen.
heatley will score 50-60 goals |

Pretty confident that San Jose Sharks will win.
Here is the order that I see it to be in.
1.San Jose Sharks 2.Anaheim Ducks 3.Los Angeles Kings 4.Dallas Stars 5.Pheonix Coyotes

The reports that Dany Heatley is a cancer in the dressing room is 100% media speculation. If he is such a bad team mate, how come NOTHING has ever come out before the summer's trade demand?? How can a player make literally every single international team in the past how many years if he is such a cancer???
Complete media BS.
The Sharks are as scary as they were last year if not more so. If there is any kind of chemistry between Thornton and Heatley, they are actually a better team than last's years President's Trophy.
The only thing that stops the Sharks from winning the Pacific and more than likely the entire regular season is injuries. |

Flames12....While i don't think the Canucks will win the West, i do think they've got as good a shot at their division as your Flames. Losing Ohlund will NOT affect the Nucks as he's been on a slight decline over the past 3 years. Don't get me wrong, he'd still be nice to have but he'd likely be on the third pairing here, maybe second at best. Oh, and not many would call him our "top Dman" looking back at the past few years, not even close!
I still say the Sharks, even after their bad start last night, so we agree there. However, i really do believe Heatley will get at least 50 and could be close to 60 by years end. |

I said San Jose but I could see Anaheim giving it a good shot.
Dallas is third, and LA is a season or two away from elite. |

Well, there goes the Sharks' perfect season!
I still think it's a bit of a crapshoot, and not a gimme for San Jose to take this division. Anaheim has some great young scorers, Getzlaf is in his prime, and if Hiller can handle the starting job as well as he played in the playoffs, that's a tough team to beat! Yeah, they lost Pronger and Beauchemin, but the D doesn't look to bad even if it is Niedermayer's last year (plus they picked up Whitney).
A faltering San Jose, for whatever reason, could be surpassed by Anaheim.
That being said, I still had to vote San Jose.

Let's not get too crazy. Anderson stood on his head last night. Not often will he Sharks get 40 shots on net and lose the game. It was Joe Sakic retirement night, of course the Av's were showing up.
The one nick in the armour of the Sharks is the back end. Erhoff gave them depth that they are all of a sudden lacking. If there is an issue, it will be with inexperienced defensemen.
But I also think there is more than enough offensive skill on that team to cover up for a defensive shortcomings. But, the defensive holes are normally found quickly in the playoffs. I thought the Sharks were trying to avoid that??
We'll see. It's still San Jose's divions and more than likely the highest point total in the NHL overall. |

yes it was joe sakics retirement night, yes anderson played a very strong game but what hurt the sharks the most was evgeny nabokov. The defense definitley didnt help, but some of the rebounds in that game that nabokov gave were brutal. at least 2 or 3 of their goals were because of rebounds, the other ones were deflected shot from the point. It was a really hard game to watch for me. thornton and heatley didnt click at all, the defense was totally lost out there and of course nabokov and his rebounds. i no its the first game of the year and we got 81 games to go, but they did not look good at all last night |

Lol cancuks lost top dman? ohland died and erhoff is much better canucks i dont think will win this year but expect them to win 3 stanley cups in next 12 years. sanjose should win but they are losing defence. heatly will not hurt the team i dont know why you would say that he only was an idiot last year. Heatly and thornton are gunna get big points in the league but so is getzlaf. sanjose will beet anaheim because they got a better golie. (anaheim has no defence because scott neidermeir is now getting old) i say it will be 1.sanjose 2.anaheim 3.phoenix 4.dallas 5.las angeles. Sanjose will not win a cup do to playoff nerves. |
