Does anyone know how Toskala and Mitchell got hurt? They are apparently on the IR and Hanson and Macdonald have been called up. I have not been able to locate a story on this. I like to see Hanson coming up though, 18 pts in 18 games with the Marlies and is second in points in the AHL, he also has a +/- of +4...not bad. I guess Gustavsson will get that chance to be the starter once again, I hope Macdonald just keeps the bench warm.

Mitchell tried to hit Okposo but slammed his knee into the boards hard. Apparently he is gone up to 6 weeks.
vesa injured his groin after the isles 2nd goal, then pulle dhimself out of the game after the leafs made it 3-1. he is out for about a week.
hanson has been called up and wilson says another marlie is on the way once the get to florida. most likely ryan hamilton, viktor stalberg, jiri tlusty or tyler bozak.
there are lots of rumours about a toronto/chicago deal as well

Thanks Matt. I didn't get to see the game as I was at the wife's Christmas party (worst comedy show ever). I think Hanson will be able to fill the role of Mitchell quite well and I hope Stalberg gets another shot. I guess we will see tomorrow night. Go Leafs!!

Which one? I have heard Kaberle for Sharp and a pick or two or Sopel and a pick or two for I don't know what. I heard Burke really wants to get some picks back from any trade he does make.

Ya I'll be honest I thought hanson was the lesser player of all the college signings but the shape he came to camp in was phenomenal and his numbers for the Marlies have been much higher than I would have anticipated so I'm excited to see if that play translates to the NHL.
Also from what I hear that deal will involve Sopel but Jesus I hope it's Barker, at the risk of sounding like Pierre D-bag Mguire, I have been a huge fan of Barker since his junior days and have always thought he was hidden behind guys like Seabrook and Keith. And Burke will likely be getting back one of the Picks he traded for Kessel, In a lower spot granted but better than nothing.
There's a lot of dirty old occ's around thats the problem |
