I always liked Bates Battaglia.
I can't believe no Leafs fans jumped all over that one. It's a cool name. It sounds like a made up name from a spy novel or something.

I forgot, although he's not a day-to-day NHLer....Corey Pecker.
You know that kid could fight.

Ah yeah...good one. "Zbynek" looks like a random combination of letters produced from someone whamming a keyboard, lol. Gotta love Slovak...whole words with practically no vowels
The Michalek's are Czech. |

Well the announcers sure couldn't. Every time I watch old NHL clips with him in it his last name becomes "Yay-ger" instead of "Yah-ger". But at least they didn't say "Jagger", lol.
Yeah my bad about the Michaleks. Czech, Slovak...pretty similar sounding names. I mix them up sometimes.

Everyone who has Pitt as last name is hilarious to me as Pitt means "Man´s Genitalia" (Hope that´s not counted as a bad word) in Swedish. Isn´t a Hockey player but gotta mention Brad Pitt means Wooden "Mans genitalia" in swedish
A contender for funniest in the NHL would be that CheeChoo guy.

Yeah, lol. I think in Russian it's actually pronounced "Tyoo-tin" rather than "too-tin", but the anglicized pronunciation is funnier
Same for Datsyuk, those "yu"s are pronounced like "you". |

It was funny when Afinogenov and Afanosenkov were on the ice at the same time during a BUF-PHI game...the announcer kinda garbled that combination, lol! |

I like Zarley Zalapski.
Another good one was Stu Grimson. Scary name for a fighter.
How about Jari Kurri?
I always laughed at Guy Hebert, not because of the name, but of the pronounciation. Gee Eebare

I voted for Wolski.
In terms of cool North American names, I'm going to have to go with Tony Twist. It sounds like a wrestler's name or something. |
