"We could curl up and cry about it and go home, or we could fight like dogs" --Chris Drury Get ready for some bites, Ottawa
Edit: BOO YAH! 1-0 Buffalo, already!! YESSS! What'd I tell ya? Gotta keep it up though, can't blow a lead like in game 2. |

Is Drury ever fighting like a dog, a goal and an assist and it's only in the 2nd. 3-0 Buffalo, No sweep tonight.

YEEEAAAAHH!! BUFFALO WINS! Final score 3-2, no sweep for the Sens! I told you they could do it! Now they're back at the HSBC arena for game 5. I can't tell you how happy I am right now
Only two teams in history have come back from being down 3-0, Toronto and NYI. Can Buffalo be the third? |

roughly once every 33 years it happens in hockey, and we happen to be coming up on year 33 since the last time it happened. If the Sabes can go out and play like they did in the first half of game 4 they have a pretty good shot. Emery's looked shaky all series, it's about time to pelt him with rubber!! GO SABES!!!

That's exactly what Lindy Ruff said in the preview article on NHL.com! The whole team is fired up after last night. They're going to score and not be scored on. Miller looked much better last game, hopefully he won't be letting in too many goals. At Miller's feet on the crease - The puck stops here!
Let's go Sabres!! |

Well Buffalo, where will you be...the day after tomorrow?
Still in the playoffs with hopes of tying it, or knocked out and forced to watch the Senators advance? Saturday at 2 ET, we'll find out.
Stay tuned. |

On that note, where will the sens stand? On top of the world, beating the best regular season team in 5 games? or will they be on their heels heading back home to a rink where they've lost 7 of the past 8 playoff games against Buffalo? Will it be business as usual on saturday or are thoughts about the past 5 years' dissapointments creeping into the back of their mind? we'll find out!

Ottawa is gonna advance to the final round. Buffalo has 25% chance to tie it up, I'm saying. No offense, Sabres fans.
Victory awaits him who has everything in order--luck, people call it. Defeat is certain for him who has neglected to take the necessary precautions in time; this is called bad luck. |

3 hours till game time. I'm ready--got my Afinogenov jersey, my "lucky Sabre" (part of some old pirate Halloween costume, lol), and Chris Drury's quote is in mind. Get ready for a game 5 win.
I just saw the sweetest thing ever: WW2 fighter jets flew over and wrote "Geico" in the sky with exhaust. What they should've written is GO SABRES! |

Oh....my....goodness. Just when I thought Buffalo's season was over, Afinogenov scores. SPASIBO MAXIM!!!! (Russian for "thank you", lol). Going into OT, keep it up Sabres!! They have made some great comebacks this year. It'd be a shame if Ottawa scored now. LET'S GO BUFFALO!!!
Did you see Volchenkov knock the glass off the boards? It hit some guy in the stands in the head. And that wasn't the only injury, Drury got hit in the mouth with a puck and started bleeding. Of all players to be forced to leave, NOT DRURY! We need Captain Clutch whenever possible. But we're hangin' in there! |

Ok, so I do have more to say.
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUdge!!!
We came so close. All that work to tie it, to play with injuries, in hope being the third team to come back from 3-0, all for nothing. And it was to the SENATORS! GAAH! Had it been any other team I wouldn't be as pissed.
Late in the third period, while it was 2-2, the Sabres had a chance to score. I think Briere had the puck, and the net was wide open and he was standing there about to shoot. Then some guy on the Senators in a scuffle with one of the Sabres trips and falls, unlodging the net so Briere couldn't shoot. Had he not fallen, who knows, Briere might've scored. The fate of the Sabres' season might have been reversed had that guy not knocked the net off. I know he didn't do it on purpose, but it just makes me so mad. There could've been a game 6.
This ruins my day. Whoever wins the West, KICK OTTAWA'S BUTT. |

What a flukey goal by Niedermayer...47 seconds left and he has to score and take it to OT. Had Lidstrom not stuck his stick out and made it bounce, Hasek would've blocked it and gotten a shutout and Detroit would've won. I'm rooting for the Wings, and if they lose this game because of a fluke-produced OT, well then things are going from bad to worse for me here.
Anyway, did you see that cartweel thing Quincey did across the boards when he got checked? Man that was sweet. And Datsyuk's stickhandling today was AWESOME. He made some amazing moves out there, better than I've seen him do in the entire post-season. He's proving himself in the playoffs alright. And then Chelios made that nice hit on...someone, I forget who it was, but he did it right in front of this sign on the boards that read "Greektown Classics". Chelios' parents were from Greece, so it was kind of a funny sight. |

If I were a die-hard Red Wings fan, I would be extremely pissed right now. They had the lead the whole game, then lose in OT all because one of their own players stuck his stick out and bounced the puck past Hasek, allowing the Ducks a fluke goal. But I'm not, so it doesn't matter TOO much. Both Detroit and Anaheim are capable of beating the Sens, so I don't care who wins. I'd prefer Detroit because I like them better, but either can get the job done in the finals.
Ironic that, of all the Ducks, my favorite player on Anaheim scored the winning goal to rob my second-favorite team of a series lead. |

I hope Detroit wins too. If my favorite team is out, hopefully my second-favorite can make it.
Well the dust has settled now, I am no longer dangerous to talk to about the Sens-Sabres series. It hurts to see Ottawa in the Cup finals, but all I have to do is look at the season standings and see Buffalo all the way at the top with a big #1 next to them, and to gaze down to 4th place where Ottawa sits. |

For the first two periods, I thought it was going to be a blowout. But as the thrid period started, it became a really exciting game. I would have liked Detriot to win the series because then it would be easier for me to cheer for Ottawa because I don't like Detriot that much...but now that Anaheim made it, it's going to be hard to choose. But, i'm going to stick with my team...

Y'know the Ducks have more Canadian players than the Sens, so if you really want to cheer for a Canadian team....
The only thing Canadian about the Senators is the city they play for.
Man, my favorite AND second favorite teams have gotten eliminated. But all I got to say is GO DUCKS! SWEEP OTTAWA! I've never liked the Sens, but after they knocked out Buffalo I really didn't like the Sens. |

Emery has already promised to play better in game 2 and the rest of the senators probably want payback for this one. The second game will be even tighter than the first.

Well Emery, you'll have to promise harder cuz ANAHEIM JUST SCORED!!! 1-0 Ducks with 5 minutes to go! It's gonna be a 2-0 series right now. Hahaha...when the Senators get swept I swear they will hear my laughter in Ottawa. |

Ottawa will probably win at home, maybe once, maybe twice if they're lucky, but they're still gonna lose the series. Once they're back in Anaheim it's Duck turf again. |
