One day till the playoffs...man I can't wait. I want to drive up to New York sooooo bad and watch the Islanders and the Sabres...and while I'm at it the Rangers too...and Pittsburgh's not too far away either. Man do I have the prime playoff location or what? (Well, I guess babs would say no because I'm not near San Jose or Nashville...)
In other hockey news, Michigan State won the Frozen Four and claimed the NCAA hockey championships! (I applied and got in to MSU, by the way ). Minnesota was the WCHA conference champs but fell flat and didn't make it to the Frozen Four (), instead it was Boston College, North Dakota, and, the unexpected one, Maine. BC always makes it to the final game and then loses. They did that last year with Wisconsin. But tough for them, congrats Spartans! |

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Rissmiller, what a guy. Hands Nashville their 4th goal but then redeems himself with the double OT thriller. I was very disappointed in the way the Sharks played the last half of the third/1st OT period but Nabokov disproved my skepticism and won the game for SJ. What an exciting, amazing hockey game to watch.
And how about Captain Clutch? Gets a breakway, doesn't get all of his backhand because he's been tripped and Vokoun ends up with a stellar save. Does that bother him? Absolutely not. He lives for the playoffs. Did anyone else notice how fast Marleau was skating out there? I mean this guy is amazing. What a beautiful pass to set up Rissmiller. THAT'S why he's my favourite player. |

Babs i can't agree with you more (hence why he was my first pick in playoff pool) he was flying out there and probably 3 times he blew past defensemen and got a great scoring oppurtunity and ended the game with 2 key assists, one to take the lead 3-2 and of course on the OT winner. I also think Grier played a great game which is a good sign for the Sharks because they don't know how long Cheechoo will be gone which really sucks if he's out for a while because i got him in the pool and i want the Sharks to go far . |

I'm glad you said that about Grier. He was the unsung hero in this game. He flew by guys just like Marleau, owned the PK, blocked shots, forechecked aggressively and gave himself lots of chances while playing with Thornton. Unfortunately what he lacks is that natural finish that Cheechoo has, but often Grier's work ethic makes up for it off the scoresheet. |

Get used to Grier playing great...he's a great roleplayer in the playoffs, as Buffalo found out last year... |

Woohoo 4-0 Detroit. Datsyuk off to good start, goal and an assist, and i think he's gonna prove himself this playoffs and take Detroit atleast past Calgary and maybe even further. But i don't think Calgary's gonna be tough to beat i say Detroit in 5 with Calgary's only win on home ice. |

I was watching the Penguins-Senators game on TV (it's in Ottawa, otherwise I would've been there), and they had some ad for some sort of waste management company on the boards. My sister comes in the room and says "Why does it say 'Waste Management' on the wall?" And I say "Because it's the SENATORS!"
Haha...one of my few good jokes |

During the NYR-ATL game Fedor Tyutin registered 2 assists which gives him 4these palyoffs and that ties him for the lead in points these playoffs. That is pretty crazy he had 14 points in 66 games this season and now has 4 points in 2 games! |

I just realized that Bryzgalov is playing for the Ducks. I think whoever picked J-S.Giguere should be able to trade for him if they wish because im not sure why he's playing. Does anyone else know? and does anyone agree that it's not fair to the people who pick Giguere? |

Detroit scored 2 goals in the first 4 minutes today. Good thing Kiprusoff's so good eh? (They spelled his name wrong on TV too, lol)
And that goal by Phaneuf was such a fluke. It was a lazy shot that just happened to bounce off of Hasek's glove. But oh well, he's in my Atlantic draft pool! |

Datsyuk was lucky that Phaneuf did not get all of him on that hit inside the Calgary blue line...lets see how Datsyuk responds next game now that he has been shaken a bit...

Well...I didn't watch the Pens-Sens game yesterday, but I read in the paper about Eaves' concussion and I also read that Malkin got into a fight near the end of the game. Malkin! He never fights! Man you know the playoffs are getting intense when even Evgeni is ready to drop the gloves. This is gonna be a tight series...already there've been many injuries/fights (many of which Colby Armstrong seems to be involved with). Can't wait to see who wins. I have a feeling Ottawa's gonna take it, but I hope Pittsburgh does...I don't really like the Senators. |

7-0 Rangers. That ties the team record for largest playoff win margin. Nice. Kovalchuk sure was fired up tonight...17 penalty minutes. 10 for game misconduct, 5 for fighting, 2 for roughing. And Kozlov got himself two penalties in the last period, Lundqvist got his first career playoff shutout, and Nylander scored the first playoff hat-trick for the Rangers since Wayne Gretzky in 1997. That was quite a game. |

Tied 1-1 so far...Thrashers are doing much better. And compared to last night it's been a much more placid game.
Have any of you guys seen those "Bobby Granger's Guide to the Rangers" commercials? Lol they're so funny |

Rangers sweep the playoffs!! 4-2 win against the Thrashers. Matt Cullen scored one of the longest-reviewed goals, and Jagr moves ahead of Gordie Howe for playoff goals (Jagr now has 69), after scoring an empty-net goal. |

Well...Hasek almost got another shutout, but Matthew Lardbody scored on him...grrrr. But nonetheless, Calgary lost again. 5-1. Kiprusoff was doing so poorly they decided to pull him, but McLennan played about 5 seconds before getting kicked out of the game for slashing Franzen in the face with his stick. Then Kiprusoff was back. It's funny how the teams didn't shake hands after the game...probably because they would've gotten into another fight! |
