I was thinking maybe it would be good to have a separate thread for discussing or commenting on the draft and the other one strictly for the draft picks.
It would make it easier to keep track of the picks and where everyone is at.
Thoughts? If not just lock this one up.

I know I'm not Beans but I don't see a problem with this except for the fact that this draft will be going extremely slow so there won't ever really be much to talk about.

I think it's fine.
I didn't expect it to be a quick thing either. 200 picks through a number of time zones and such.

So far, the picks are expected. I would have figure Willus would take a defensive player. Argueably the best ever, but still defensive.

Picks 1-3 are what should be expected.

Well even though it was a little ambitious to expect Brodeur to stay until my next pick, I wanted him. Imagine the tandem of Sawchuk-Brodeur.

There are many great goalies out there. In fact, there are 5 in the top 50 players of all time not drafted yet. Besides, you back up could be Eddie Mio for all that matters. It's that starter. You both have fine reps between the pipes

Not sure if I like being the 5th pick. I am right in the middle all the way though. Have to wait for 8 picks every time. Damn

Well look at Mik, she has to wait 16 picks between each pair... Same with Frames. So really which would you prefer? I like 7th, only have to wait 4 one way and 12 the other.

It's weird, in any fantasy draft I always seem to draft seventh. No matter how many people are participating, it always seems to be 7th.

Willus you are solidifying my earlier thoughts about you. Defense is key in your mind. You took the two best defensive defensemen in history as your first two picks. Don't forget you need to score a few goals too.

Perhaps you should have taken Calgary. Score a goal and then play defense for 55 minutes.

Kidding.

Don't you worry Beaner. Wait till you see what I do with the rest of my picks.
If i couldn't have Orr I had to go with the next best thing.
I'm pretty sure I'll end up about dead last in this pole at the end though. Just a hunch. What do you think of having an impartial analysis by someone? Maybe Admin if he's up to the task. That way we'll get an opinion on each team.
Thoughts?

I think that we should use this at the end to debate our teams. Then, at the end, the 9 people in the draft will pick the top 3 teams, without being able to vote for thier own team.

I doubt we will get an impartial opinion from the masses. No offense intended, but many on this site are not old enough to remember the 80's, let alone before that. I myself do not remember much before 85ish.

I think I am the oldest in this pool, I hope that is an advantage, and not a disadvantage...sometimes when I take my Geritol pills things get a little cloudy...so if I pick Dave Reese as my second goalie please ignor the pick...

Good pick Semin. You got a lot of heart there. And a great leader.
I'm still having trouble picturing Orr wearing a Dallas jersey though. Just doesn't seem right.

That is my one concern with this draft. Because it seems the majority of the people on this site are under the age of 25, it will be a popularity contest rather than an objective view of the team.

I will more than likely pick some players that I may not have liked while I was growing up...I may take some players from Montreal, being a Leafs fan that will be hard to do, but I am going to try to build the best team possible...

Good choice, that was why I mentioned non NHL players, he was more than likely one of the best to not play in the NHL...

I'm actually really surprised that no current players have been drafted yet.

Well I am going to choose an active player after OC makes his next pick...

I am Atlantic time, it's 12:52AM here. Yes, my body still won't shut down for another couple hours, but hey I only have to get up around 12:30 tomorrow so I'm good!
