Back by popular demand is the pick the winner of the series game. Here are the rules:
1 - The game is open to any forum member or guest that has their picks in place no later than 4:30pm (eastern) on the day the playoffs start.
2 - Each person will select the TEAM that will win each series and the NUMBER OF GAMES the series will go to.
3 - After each playoff round, the top 1/2 of the entries (plus ties) will move on to the next round.
4 - The point is to pick the series winner. The number of games the series goes to is a tie breaker. It is a combined number of games. For example:
Slozo and I both pick 8 out of 8 series winners and Alex picked 7 out of 8. Both Slozo and I are ahead of Alex automatically, even if he picked the number of games played dead.
I picked the series to all go to 6 games (my number is 48) and he picked all the series to go to 5 games (his number is 40). There are actually 42 games played in total in the 1st round so Slozo is ahead of me in the standings by picking closer. Going over does not matter.
5 - As we get into the Conference Finals, more tie breaking tools will be used such as total goals in the series, Conn Smythe winner, etc.
6 - My game, my rules. I will listen to any suggestions from today until the 1st day of the playoffs for anything someone might want to add to make the game a little more fun.
I don't think I need to remind anyone who won challenge last year. And Slozo, I think it was a landslide.

Bring it on! You can be sure I will have my picks in before anyone has a chance to see you in a Leafs jersey for the next two months!

No doubt my 1 wrong was the Canucks getting defeated in the 1st round. Am i correct?
Looking forward to knocking you off your throne Beans! AND, if you win back to back, i'll argue that you shouldn't be eligible as an owner, family member of owner, etc of the game! |

With the final game of the regular season complete, the playoff matches are set. Here they are, home team listed first. Remember, for this round you need to indicate the series winner and the games in each series. Anything date stamped after 4:30pm EST on Tuesday will be subject to approval. If someone legitimately forgets or is busy I will not cut them out complete.

Keep'em coming folks!!! And yes, guests are allowed.
Also, you have until Wednesday, April 13th at 4:30pm (EST) to have your picks in place or change something in your picks.
My bad, I thought the games started Tuesday. |

Okay, here goes nothing!
East Washington over NYR in 5 Buffalo over Philly in 6 Boston over Montreal in 7 Pittsburgh over TB in 7
West Vancouver over Chicago in 5 San Jose over LA in 4 Phoenix over Detroit in 6 Nashville over Anaheim in 6
Yup, picking a few upsets. Could be eliminated real quick i suppose? I'm really not big on Philly with the way they've played this past month and their shaky goaltending. Detroit's injuries and goaltending scare me and Nashville has to win a playoff series at some point? Rinne steals this one for the Preds!
I'm picking a sweep in the SJ series as i think they're on a run right now and with Kopitar missing, LA's in trouble! |

West:
VAN beats CHI in 6 SJS beats LAK in 5 DET beats PHX in 7 ANA beats NAS in 6
