Avg of almost 6 goals a game? Sounds like an entertaining series! After the Nashville one, i hope you're right! |

Hey Smart guy, two people made it to the 2nd round and didn't put teams in. 15 who put in teams and 2 who did not make up 17 for the 2nd round. What is 1/2 of 17 plus ties??? Me thinks it's 9, but correct me if I am wrong.
And politely wondering?? You knew the rules when we started and you agreed to them with your entry. You said nothing until AFTER the 1st round. Then you spew about what's fair and not fair on the number of games. Then, you don't like the split of the number of people going on to the 3rd round, even though that was also very clear in the rules.
So, you listed 15 players - you cannot get around that, go back to your post and count it up yourself - and because I don't go back and count in the other two who didn't put in their picks for the second round, and figure out your reasoning for counting them in some way, and then figure out your reasoning for how to round out half of an odd number . . . you say I am being some kind of jerk (paraphrasing) for asking why it is that way?
And . . . I knew the rules when we started? Show me where you list all those rules, buddy. Show me where you list the rules about counting people who didn't make picks.
I mean seriously . . . it WAS politely wondering, I didn't know all the rules (you can't in a thing like this, you'd have to print off 5 pages, it'd be silly - sort of like arguing that you made it clear when I have to ask questions all the time), and it's time for you to admit fault for once in your life here on this site, dude. I said nothing until after the first round . . . BECAUSE I GUESS YOU DID NOT EXPLAIN IT THAT WELL, sir! Cripes, you really don't get it, do you?!?
Just answer the question like an adult, please. Thanks. And when I ask the questions and go on about how we appreciate it . . . if I dare to ask a second question, don't go into a snit.
I've already spent too much of my time having to explain why I can, as a poster here, question why this or that is being done - very politely, I might add, I noticed you couldn't refute that in any meaningful way - for a cute little guessing contest on a hockey talk website.
And my guess is, that it will be pointless in making you see your overreaction.

Taking a chance Alex I know. I view the San Jose d as a little less physical than the Chicago and Nashville d, and so I have a feeling the Sedins start to break out. Could be wrong, but just a hunch.... |

Couple of things:
1 -Not a single rule has changed from my starting post. Not one. You don't have to print off 5 pages of anything anything to see that.
2 - I clearly posted the number of people who made it to the 2nd round. You don't have to go back that far to see that Sashis and a guest made it through. The rules stated:
After each playoff round, the top 1/2 of the entries (plus ties) will move on to the next round.
I can see your point here as it would have been easier for some to understand if I explained that 'entries' refers to those moving on to the next round. Should I punish people for others not putting in an entry?? Talk about not fair.
3 - This is a free, fun game that I put together last year and followed the exact set of rules without having a single person have any issues with the rules.
4 - Clearly take a look at Rule #6 posted on the first day. Let me show you:
6 - My game, my rules. I will listen to any suggestions from today until the 1st day of the playoffs for anything someone might want to add to make the game a little more fun.
5 - Let me know what still isn't clear as it appears that everyone else very clearly understands how this worked from the start.

I sure hope the Sedin's have a breakout but i'm a little concerned about Hank's injury status which we know we won't find the truth about till they either get eliminated, or win the cup! |

I definitely want to run this next year, if you don't mind Beans....
My picks:
San Jose def. Vancouver in 6 games, 30 total goals scored.
Tampa def. Boston in 6 games, 30 total goals scored. |

Well, I'm sure glad that you can handle a couple of questions Beans - thanks for answering everything. Nothing more to say other than that, I'm afraid.
TB looked darn good tonight, and I am glad I picked them.

Just missing Kirby's picks. Everyone else is in.
Good Luck!!
I am a little surprised that only one person picked San Jose and 2 people picked Tampa. Just my opinion, but Tampa has been the best team in the playoffs so far.

Here is a little pre-work/
If Boston wins game 7:
Nuxfan, Gusteroni, 99Pickles, Pushrod, and Guest4915 move on with 2 correct picks.
If Tampa Bay wins game 7:
Kirby, Slozo, and Thrasher17 move on with 2 correct picks with Nuxfan and 99Pickles also moving on with 1 correct pick using the total goals tiebreaker.
99Pickles, Gusteroni, and Nuxfan will be tied with 1 correct pick and the same number of games picked. Nuxfan picked 60 total goals, 99Pickles picked 56 goals, and Gusteroni picked 55 goals. As the goal total is already 71, it's a moot point. |

I had 60 total goals as well. I think you missed me in that second scenario Beans. I'll try not to feel too bad about the snub |

I will double check the numbers when I get home. This is why I wanted to post this early. I am away almost all of the next two weeks so I want to get any issues taken care of early.
I won't snub anyone if they are supposed to be in based on the original rules. |

No No NuxfanAlex, there can't be a parade route in Vancouver. All the parade planning happens in Toronto!!!!

Pushrod, you might have had 60 goals picked, but you didn't pick the number of games right. You are off by 1. Other three guys I mentioned picked the games dead on. That means you are out. Sorry. |

Actually I may have been the only guy that picked the right number of games in saying Vancouver in 5. Not sure what numbers you're using. It's just for fun so no big deal and it's a moot point now anyways since Boston won and I was a part of that group. |

Boston wins. The following group goes through on 2 wins.
Nuxfan, Gusteroni, 99Pickles, Pushrod, and Guest4915
I need the winning team, number of games, and total goals for the series before puck drop on Wednesday. |

Congrats to Pushrod, the only guy to pick Boston. He also called 7 games and, with 32 goals in the series, was only one goal off that prediction as well!!!
Wow.
Nicely Done! |

Thanks Beans and thanks for putting your time into the draft, it was fun! I'll make a title belt for myself and wear it proudly until next year. |
