McGuire does know what he's talking about (or...aboot  ), but he's really annoying.

Seems like with Crosby, you either love him or hate him. I have no real team affiliation, so I'm guessing the people that hate him are the ones who like teams he picked apart this year. Otherwise, it makes no sense to hate a guy who is all heart and determination, unless you are someone with no heart or determination and prefer floaters and hotdogs like Kovalchuk, I guess.

Anyone else find it really sad that Crosby himself did not say a thing about his foot injury impacting his performance, yet McGuire goes on TV yesterday and says, "Look at this 19 year old kid who won the scoring title on one leg."
What a complete tool.

Add Greg Millen to that. Hear the way he called that tic-tic-toe goal between Recchi, Malkin and Crosby that resulted in Crosby scoring the game winner in Game 2 (?)? It was a beautiful 3-way passing play and after it was scored the only thing he talked about was how much skill it took for Crosby to be able to tip that puck in...
I think people are making a common mistake by saying they hate Crosby. Now I can't speak for everyone because I'm sure some people genuinely hate him, ahem, but I think some are confusing their hatred for the attention/airtime he gets with a hatred of him. Now believe you me, I DESPISE all the airtime he gets with "special reports" and over-exaggerations about stuff like his foot injury, etc. By NO means though do I hate him. I think he's fun to watch and some of the plays he can make are baffling. I just think people should be aware of this common misconception when saying they "hate" him. |

People that "hate" Crosby can be summed up in one word - envious.
I've seen it with Gretzky, I've seen it with Mario, and I'm sure I'll see it with Tavares if he is as good as people say he is. He's a whiner, he's a showboat, he's a complainer. Here's a tip - actually sit down and watch his games (not just the highlights), and then smack your own backside for pre-judging and listening to the talking heads, instead of the actual truth.
I personally like the attention the media gives him. I want to watch how he plays, study it, soak it in, and learn from it. I want to hear what he has to say. If he scores two goals, I want to see how he did it - from three different angles. But I'm not a hockey fan. I'm a fanatic. I think young players can learn from him, too.
Better that than watching the thugs in the NFL.
I also think Pierre MacGuire forgot more about hockey yesterday than most people have learned about the game in their entire lives.
Now Greg Millen, on the other hand....

for those of you who hate Roy, here's a story for you:
I hear ppl talking about sid being tough for playing with a "broken foot"....Roy showed the ultimate example of p-off toughness......In 1994, the Habs were playing Boston in the first round. However, early in the series Roy had appendicitus and required surgery, the doctors said in no way should Roy return in this series, but Roy defied them, and played after missing only three games. oh, and by the way, he had a 39 save shutout that day! He is the ultimate competitor, and if any hockey player warrants respesct, it's that guy.

That's an impressive story about Roy, but are you putting broken foot in quotes because you doubt it was broken or don't think that shows toughness? Should we say that Roy required "emergency surgery" just because we dislike him? That said, I also don't want to hear another report about Crosby or the Pens for a while. It's just too damn depressing. |

D-fender you should check some of your spelling
For this whole Sidney Crosby stuff- Roy had something wrong with him that need to be taken out right away, or it would seriously hurt him. Crosby had a couple broken bones in his foot. You have a lot of bones in your foot and if you break 2 or 3 little ones, I don't think it will effect how you play. I don't remember but didn't it say that he had a broken foot for a long time now, l think if it was really hurting him, that he would have said something. I think that is just an excuse for playing poorly.
Now back on topic.....

| Oh yeah...Belfour. I suppose I could add him to my hate list. The guy I really can't stand is Sean Avery. I really don't see why everyone thinks he's so good. If you ask me he's the most overrated player in the league (the players think so as well, 60% voted for him in this category). He only has 48 points. And he's a winger. If he were a defenseman that wouldn't be too bad, but he's a winger. 48 points...and he's tied for 126th overall. Wow, he's so amazing. During the playoffs all he's been good for is hitting. He can knock down the opponent but that's about it. He loses most of his face-offs, and in the series against Buffalo he put up ZERO points. The only goal he scored in the entire postseason was a complete fluke. It bounced off the boards and just happened to go in. So many people were spazzing out and saying "Ohmygosh did you see that goal by Avery? It was such an amazing shot!" No, it was a coincidence he hit the puck at the right angle to cause it to bounce off the wall (not even close to the goal) and into the net. He thinks he's great, but myself and several others here have him on the dislike list. Good for you all. I'm glad he won't be getting his name on the Cup this year. |

I love Colby Armstrong. Next to no natural talent, but he's a gamer, and will hit anyone.
Saku had his head down, and he deserved to get hit, Habsfan.
BTW, will you still be a Crosby hater when he's playing in Montreal in 5 years when he's a UFA, because that is one place I bet he'd go.
