What did you guys think of Anisimov's goal celebration against the lightning today?
He dropped to his knee, turned his stick around like a rifle and started shooting at Lecavalier. The Bolts lost their minds.....

I thought it was pretty bush league, like Aaron Asham celebrating the fight earlier in the year. but at the same time, a bit of an over reaction from the Lightning. yes what he did was wrong, but not the worst thing he could have done. I believe the veterns on the team would have delt with it and it would have been done with. However, as we all no the Lightning seem to take a lot of these things a little tooo serious Omark doing the spin, Ovechkin and his "Hot Stick" all agaisnt the lightning.
CANUCKS RULE!!!

A lot of players have celebrated scoring a goal many times. Some celebrations are a little more stylish or exuberant then others. Anisimov may have taken his a little to far, intentionally or not, by pointing his "gun" at Lecavalier or at least in his direction. The reaction by the Lightning was warranted and I hope every team would react that way when deliberatly being made fun of. |

I love this kind of stuff, people are too f***ing touchy and feelings get hurt wayyy to easily these days, why not let it put a fire under your ass and next shift go out and score and mock them back! just like the NFL Endzone antics players have makes the game much more fueled. go ahead and have fines but let the money from these fines go to charities then everyone is happy! |

The problem here is the fact that he "aimed" his imaginary guy directly at a Lightning player, in this case, Lecavalier. THAT, is where he was in the wrong in a big way. I've seen guys throw their glove in the air and shoot at it or just shoot at the air, but to aim at a guy is going overboard. |

he difference with Anisimov is that his taunt was a direct "in your face taunt" by pointing his "gun" at lecavalier. In the NFL touchdown celebrations are allowed, but as soon as the celebration goes over the line, like by involving a member of the team being scored on, it is a penalty. Perhaps the NHL should adapt a similar system. Even Selanne shooting his own glove, and Ovi's "hot stick" even though they were a little outlandish, they still didn't include directly mocking the team being scored on. |

Yeah thats what i was talking about if it was me he pointed at in his celebration it would light a fire under my ass to get even, get out and score next shift and skate by and mock him back, sure its childish but i love that entertainment value of the game. i just HATE the fact so many people are offended by celebrations even if it is bush leauge and in poor taste i still love it, and brings in more rivalries and entertainment, never really got excited for a Rangers and Lightning match up and if these sportscasters and media hadn't made this such a big deal and cried about it and blew it up to more then it was id actually be excited for the next match.. but now its gonna be under a microscope for anything to happen and it'll be just another boring game.. |

ChillTown....i get what you're saying, and i agree with some of it. I too love to see a cool / funny celebration, be it NHL, NFL, etc. Personally, i love the stuff the NFL guys used to be able to do, i found it fully entertaining and to say it was delaying the game or whatever the reasons were for banning it, is bush. It's like saying fans don't like a good hockey fight! Then why so so many thousand fans watch them???
However, the part i don't agree with is Anisimov's in particular, or anything like it. It was overboard as it is far too personal what he did, and deals with a touchy subject! Would you be okay if a guy scored, then skated by the other teams bench and "flipped them all the bird"?? THAT, is the kind of stuff that is overboard and too personal to be doing. Sure, it'll create controversy, but if that's all you're after, then go watch WWE! |
