Well after going through 2 grueling rounds of beer league playoff hockey the PickupHockey.com Toads are officially the Coast Hockey League - Night Owl Champs! 
We took the "best of 5 beer-league series" 3 games to 2 against the powerful Alkys! The final game was played at 10pm last night which we won 7-4. It was a sea-saw battle right into the 3rd period where we finally put it to bed. The Alkys were a formidable opponent but in the end they were no match for the intensity of the Mighty Toads! 
The huge crowd of 2 people nearly took the roof off of the Richmond Ice Centre! Crowd control was at a premium as the press swarmed the ice! Ultimately we got a pretty nice trophy and some sweet ball caps, but most importantly we now have BRAGGING RIGHTS for the summer!

Well we've done it again! The Pickuphockey.com Mighty Toads have won the Kitsilano Spring League Division 2 Hockey Championship as well!
In the spoils was a 24 of very cheap beer! So all in all it was a championship season for Pickuphockey! We're back at it in September and hoping to keep the tradition alive! Good times were had by all. Thanks for a great season fellow Toads! |

Hi 1CF. The Winter league season & Spring league season is over for this year. The winter league starts again in September at the Richmond Ice Centre.
And yes there are playoffs. It's an 8 team division. This year we won the first round of the playoffs against the TNT team 2 games to 1. Then in the finals we beat the Alkys 3 games to 2. Lots of fun! |
