I do not think that any player will play for 4$ a year...is there not a league minimum...
If you ment "$ 4 million per year", I would not pay either player that kind of money...
I don't necessarily agree with everything I say. - - Marshall McLuhan

I would rather pay that to a guy like Penner. He is young and Beans has told me he will be amazing with Edmonton so hewould be my choice. and as an added bonus he doesn't have back problems.

OK Leafsfan_101, before you and I have some problems, don't put words into my mouth. I never said he would be amazing, I was simply saying that Penner has the potential to be a valuable player. My arguement was that he it is not unreasonable to think he could have close to 40 goals and over 60 points with Hemsky and that his raise was not that huge of a deal. I never said he would be amazing and save the Oilers or anything.
As for the question, putting $4million into either player is a risk. I would personally choose Penner as he is younger and healthier. I don't think Bertuzzi will ever find his pre-suspension form.

I think Penner is a better deal but I don't think he will get 40 goals i'll say aund 30. Because he played for the stanley cup champs your always gona do alot better normally. But if Todd finds his pre-sspnsion form it could be a great deal for aneheim.

Oh and speekin of those two for 4 million a year. Cammalleri just got about 3.3 million a year and I personally think he is alot better than penner and bertuzzi.

Camalleri did get $6.7 over two years from an arbitrator. He was asking for $6 million a year. If he would have been a UFA, with 80 points as at 25 year old in only his 2nd full NHL season, I am pretty sure he would have been in the $4+ million ball park.
And to say he's a lot better is a stretch. Maybe better offensively (last year), but not nearly the physical threat that Penner or Bertuzzi are. There is a huge difference between 5'9"/185 lbs and 6'3"/245 lbs.

off topic but I have to ask - Beans what do you mean when you say "I Love your Kids, IHC is the man, and The Oilers Rule. Does that make me insane??" It sounds kind of creepy. |

Beans is obviously a family man. Don't think for one second that there is anything creepy about him. Anybody that has children can feel secure, and be happy about the fact that this man loves them. That's what I think it means, anyway. |

Actually, it's doesn't mean anything at all. It's kind of a shot at a couple of guys on here. There was a debate about a questionable hit that one person said was dirty. The other guy said it wasn't. So the first guy asked if the 2nd guy would still think it was dirty if it was his kid that got hit. The 2nd guy said it still wasn't dirty, so guy #1 said that he must not love his kids.
The second part is that IHC got such a bum-rap for his opinions, which are mostly off the wall, that I wanted to give him some support.
The third part is that the Oilers do Rule. Best Hockey Team in history!
And lastly, the insane part had something to do with another debate that was really funny because one guy called another guy insane for a really goofy reason(in my opinion), so I threw it out there.
I can understand how one might think it's creepy if you don't know the stories behind it. I will have to change it.
