I don't know who to root for...the Ducks because they're a solid Cup-winning team or the Kings because I was born in LA.
I think the Ducks are going to take it though, but as of right now the Kings are up 1-0.

2-0 LA after 2.
Mike Cammalleri and Rob Blake have been credited with the goals.
Bernier, LA's goalie has been making some great saves, especially when Anaheim gets pressure going on the power play.
I think LA is going to take this game. |

4-1 LA final. Pretty sloppy hockey pretty much. The fans seemed to enjoy it though. That O'Sullivan for LA has some nice moves! Bernier was excellent! |

LA must be the yougest team in the NHL, Their best player is only 25, and they have many rookies in their lineup. Bernier played a soild game, he looked like he was in his fifth season not his first...

What really stood out for me was Bernier's positioning and his game awareness. Bertuzzi kept trying to screen Bernier, and Bernier would just glance around Bertuzzi and get back into position, essentially using Bertuzzi as an obstacle for the shooter. As well, Bernier seemed cool, especially under the pressure of an early 5 on 3.
Last year LA was the 7th oldest team in the league with an average age of 28.548 years. The NHL average was 27.890 and the youngest team was San Jose - 26.185 years. (source: nhlnumbers.com)

LA had one of the best offseasons this year picking up Michael Handzuz,Ladislav Nagy,Tomr Preissing,Brad Stuart and Kyle Calder. Great team now.
And Lubomir Visnovsky had a great game. Jonathan Bernier played a great game aswell. There's a good future for the Kings. I think the Kings will win the next game.

I think you can tell we are all starved for hockey when we are posting about the season opener like it's the Stanley Cup Final!
If you are under the age of 15, please do some research before you make a post about anything pre-1997. |

I second that. Thankfully, Wednesday isn't far away. |
