This All-Star game is starting to seem anything like the All-Stars of the season.

The latest injury, Sidney Crosby. Ouch.

Hopefully he can get back in a short period of time.

You know about this Sidney Crosby injury I'm happy about it and mad about it. Mad, because he is in my Poll and that will hurt. Happy though, and I think I speak for a couple of guys on these forums. I'm happy because all of you Crosby haters will see how valuable Crosby is to the Penguins. Out of these games he's going to be missing. Let's see how many wins they can get. Not as many that's for sure.

Of course they won't be winning as much. I think the only 2 teams that still have a great team if a star goes down is Ottawa and Detroit. When Zetterberg went down there team didn't collapse, I don't remembere how well they did but I know it wasn't bad. And right now Heatley's out and Ottawa can pull off a 5-1 win over Carolina.

The thing I am hoping does not happen is, I hope it does not affect his skating for years to come. A high ankle sprain can often be worst down the road than a broken ankle would have been.

I lost Statsny and Heatley from my pool for injury. :/ Tough year.

First of all, sorry to Mr. Crosby as this might cost him a second Art Ross. He was leading through tonight (more games in hand than Ilya and Vinnie)

Second of all, sorry to me and all the other playoff poolies who own him. It doesn't sit well with me to know that these type of injuries tend to sideline athletes for a month or more (kudos to AP for printing the story)

Third of all, sorry to the Pittsburgh Penguins who looked to be making a very legitamite run at a high playoff seed as of late. The Penguins for the record, ar 0-2-2 without their captain.

Fourth of all, sorry to the NHL who not only will be losing the face of their brand for a while, but also will suffer in terms of quality at the all star game. With the leading vote getter out, a couple others nursing injuries, and a couple left out due to a stupid (don't get me started) rule that aims to get all teams represented, there is no question that the game will lack depth. I think that this will be a very poor All Star game. Mediocre at best. They need something to snazz it up again.

In short: as long as Mr. Crosby is feeling sore, a whole bunch of us will be feeling sorry. Here's to a speedy recovery for no. 87.

Habs get number 25 this year

How about shame on the fact that Scott Niedermayer is going to be in the All Star Game. What kind of message does that send?? Play 17 games of hockey and get into an All Star game where your team is represented by 4 players??

I feel that there are a few western conference defensemen got screwed. Rafalski and Schneider come to mind.

Wayne or Bobby?? How about both!!!

It is only going to get worse.

Next season with the new schedule the teams are going to be travelling more, and more of the star players are going to want time off at the all-star break.

I cannot believe an NHL player like Niedermayer would even accept the invitation knowing that he is not played all that much, and there are others deserving of the invitation...

Of coarse you know that this means war!

Who knows maybe they did ask some of those other guys to play and they didn’t want to and they didn’t want it to be public so they wouldn’t piss off their fans by saying no. I am sure there are a few fans not to happy with Louie but he’s got a good reason not to go to that game. Pregnant wife at home in Florida who he doesn’t see too often. What they should do is have the all-star game after the playoffs like the Pro Bowl and more players would be willing to play because they know they have a nice layoff after the game either way.
