Or how about a list of NHL players who have NOT retired and are still playing in non-NHL leagues. Ed Belfour, Travis Green, Alexei Morozov, Anson Carter are just a few off the top of my head. I think each of these guys could help out an NHL team...like the Leafs, let's say!
The Lightning signed Evgeny Artyukhin of the Russian league, bringing him back to the NHL. This is an astute move on their part, signing a good depth guy that was completely off everyone's radar. This is what some other GM's should be doing: finding NHL experienced players that will come back to the league for less than market value to round out their rosters. The college ranks are another great source for "off radar" players that aren't being competed for in free agency.
