| Dude, no. Stortini is not a goon. He's a kid with alot of heart, but not much skill. He's a great grinder, who can hit and fight. He's got a tremendous work ethic, solid defensive game. You'd be surprised how many Coaches would want a kid like that on their team, I know for a fact MacT isn't complaining. |

Ok, so I'm going to have to jump in and defend Daigle. How can you possibly call him the worst player in the NHL? Biggest bust, quite possibly but he's far far far from the worst in the league.
Just for comparisions sake....
Daigle-616 gms, 327 Pts
Belak-442 gms, 29 pts
Daigle was far from the best, but he was definatly far from the worst. |

Worst player, but still have a career in the NHL;
Brad Marsh - I still don't get how he made 1000+ games
Derian Hatcher - only time he looked good was when he went to Philly, nobody wore pylon orange better.

Brad Marsh :) Apparently he was a defensive defenseman.
I had some good laughs with (at?) Brad Marsh when I was kid with his 1 goal per year and his quite laboured skating style. I would not call him the worst, he was definitely fun to watch for me and worked hard... and at least he did not miss an empty net on a breakaway like Dan Daoust did.
Without thinking about it too long, I would say the goalie Glenn "Chico" Resch was the absolute worst player. Whenever I saw him play I knew I could count on a whole pile of goals being scored that game. |

I think it is hard to call any NHL player the worst ever because they were obviously good enough to get to the NHL which makes them pretty damn good hockey players.

Daigle? He was a bonafide bust for a #1 pick, but worst player ever? Not a chance. None of the guys on your list even qualify.
The worst NHL player ever would have played one game, been sent back down, and was never heard from again. The worst player is always someone no one remembers, because the worst players don't stick around. |

Screw you guys! Aki Berg was soooo underrated. He was a solid 5th D man who played on Toronto teams that actually made the playoffs every year, and sometimes went deep! He couldnt have been bad enough to be considered the worst ever! c'mon!

Moe Mantha. Seriously The Jets dealt him to get Carlyle back in the 80's, and then traded to get Mantha again. I don't know what was worse, the fact that he was a boneheaded goon or the fact that my team dealt him away and then got him again.
Honourable mentions to Laurie Boschman. Seriously those 1980's Jets were a Goldmine of bad players, Hannu Jarvenpaa Anyone? |
